One of the best and most reputable universities in Ukraine, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, along with training high-quality specialists, provides all nonresident and foreign students with accommodation. The campus is a separate structural subdivision and is guided in its activity by the current legislative acts of Ukraine, the standard regulations on the student dormitory of the educational institution of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Statute and the Regulations on the campus.

The work in the campus dormitories is aimed at settlement and eviction of students, ensuring control in the dormitories, improving the living conditions of students, and organizing leisure activities for students living in the dormitories.

The university campus has five dormitories, which is a residential complex where 2260 students live and rest. The campus administration actively cooperates with the student councils of the dormitories during the settlement process. They help organize the settlement of residents and participate in the development of settlement maps.

Information for applicants about the dormitory accommodation of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” for the academic year 2021-2022

The 1st year students and students (2, 3, 4 years) who have not lived in the dormitory before are accommodated in the dormitories of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” every month 5 working days after the student receives the order for enrollment or within a week after the application for accommodation (for the 2nd – 4th year students).

1. Nonresident applicants who wish to live in dormitories must indicate the need for accommodation in a dormitory when writing an application for admission.

2. Take a certificate of enrollment from the relevant directorate (dean’s office) to the passport office (or a letter of enrollment).

3. Obtain a certificate for conscripts from the inspector of the personnel department for military registration for the military commissariat (room 316-F).

4. Submit to the head (commandant) of the dormitory:

  • an application of the established form for accommodation (5 working days before the actual accommodation);
  • a receipt (copy) of payment for the dormitory (payment is made in advance for the academic year 5 working days before the settlement);
  • a certificate from the gas service (38A Sinna St.) or from the previous place of residence (except for residents of dormitory No. 5);
  • 3x4 photos – 4 pcs.

5. Apply to the head (commandant) of the dormitory to sign the Agreement on Providing Temporary Accommodation in the Student Dormitory of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic, read the Regulations on Student Dormitories of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic, the Rules of Internal Regulations in Student Dormitories of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic, and the Fire Safety Rules and get passes to the dormitory.

6. Get a warrant from the director of the campus (dormitory No. 4).

7. Apply to the passport office in dormitory No. 2 with a passport (WITHOUT DECLARING the registration of the previous place of residence) and a bank receipt for payment of the administrative fee for registration (deregistration) in the dormitory.

8. Apply to the military registration and enlistment office (Poltava, 4 Chervonoarmiiska St.) with a military ID or a certificate instead of a military ID (for conscripts – a certificate of registration) with a note on DEMISSION FROM THE MILITARY REGISTRATION at the permanent place of residence.

9. Bring a medical certificate (medical center in dormitory No. 5, entrance from the stadium) (you must have a fluoroscopy certificate and vaccination records).

The right to priority accommodation in dormitories (provided if the relevant documents are attached to the application for accommodation) is granted to students and applicants who have the preferential right to accommodation in dormitories in accordance with:

  • Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 226 of April 5, 1994 “On Improving the Upbringing, Education, Social Protection and Financial Support of Orphans and Children Deprived of Parental Care”;
  • The Law of Ukraine “On the Status and Social Protection of Citizens Affected by the Chornobyl Disaster”;
  • Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 92-r of March 14, 2001 “On Measures to Support the Formation and Development of Student Families” (if both spouses study at Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic).

Persons who do not apply for accommodation within two weeks from the date of the beginning of the stay specified in the order lose their right to stay (they are considered not to have settled and others are settled in their places).

The dormitory has a pass system, with doormen and security guards working 24 hours a day to prevent unauthorized persons from entering the dormitory.

At the beginning of the academic year, all dormitories host meetings of students with the deputy deans of the faculties for educational work, heads of the student councils to familiarize students with their rights and responsibilities, safety instructions, rules of conduct in the dormitory and organization of meaningful leisure activities for students.

In September, elections are held for student councils of faculties and dormitories, which hold weekly meetings to discuss issues of student life, leisure, etc. Systematic raids are conducted to check the sanitary condition of rooms and common areas. A competition for the best dormitory room and the best dormitory is held annually.

Each room on campus is connected to the Internet, which allows students to use new modern technologies for their studies. The campus has a recreation area for students and student families, a sports ground, a library, two gyms, and facilities for student services (student shop, hairdresser, canteen, student health center).

Through joint efforts, the campus is constantly working to improve the material and technical base of the dormitories. External and internal repairs are being carried out: modern shower cabins have been installed, bathrooms have been renovated to European standards, common areas, corridors and stairwells have been arranged. The roofs and roofs were repaired, 90% of old windows and doors were dismantled, and the window frames were replaced with energy-saving plastic ones. New lighting was installed on all floors of the university’s dormitories, and the facades were renovated.

All foreign students are provided with a place in a dormitory, hard and soft equipment. An experienced psychologist and highly professional specialists work with foreign citizens to help them adapt to living conditions in Ukraine, including in dormitories. Given that the campus is home to representatives of about 20 nationalities, the university promotes a friendly attitude towards people of different nations and religions, respect for their traditions and customs.

To organize meaningful leisure activities for students living in the dormitories, a number of sports, cultural and educational events are held. Intellectual games between dormitory teams and festive evenings are held with great interest. The winners are awarded with diplomas and valuable gifts.

The general organizational issues of the campus are resolved in close cooperation with the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Corporate Governance, deans of the faculties and the campus administration. Together with representatives of the campus administration and the Vice-Rector for Academic and Social Work, round tables are organized on a weekly basis to discuss topical issues related to student accommodation in dormitories. Student councils of the dormitories are active organizers of the events.
