EDUCATIONAL–SCIENTIFIC INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION was established in 2018 due to the unification of the pedagogical and scientific potential of the Construction and Architecture Faculties. From the moment of its foundation the Institute is headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, State Prize laureate in the field of science and technology O.V. Semko.

 

The Construction faculty existed since the foundation of our educational institution (1930) and at one time became the source for its creation. Its founders were V.O. Brodetskii, K.V. Chuprunenko In the following years the faculty was headed by: O.N. Mogilat, M.T. Andreiko, S.F. Pichugin, A.S. Vykhodtsev, P.G. Gorbenko, Yu.I. Velykodnii, O.A. Shkurupii, O.A. Kharchenko, L.G. Shcherbinin, V.F. Pents, M.P. Nesterenko The history of the Construction faculty is inextricably linked with the names of prominent scientists who worked at the faculty in different years: M.S. Torianik, D.M. Topchii, E.V. Platonov and others. Scientific schools on building constructions and structural mechanics have been founded by such scholars as M.S. Torianik, Ye.V. Platonov, P.F. Vakhnenko, L.V. Faleev, I.S. Dotsenko, P.M. Nevsky and others.

 

The Faculty of Architecture has more than 50 years of experience in the training of specialist architects. The beginning of its formation is 1966, when the architectural specialty was opened at the Faculty of Industrial and Civil Engineering. Its founder was O.N. Mogylat In 1971, the first issue of architects in the specialty "Architecture", specialization "Urban Development" took place. The formation and development of the Faculty of Architecture took place gradually and naturally through its periodic restructuring. The result of the structural reorganization of the faculty was the isolation of several graduating departments, whose activities are related to the profile training of architects of different specialties. A significant number of graduates of the Faculty of Architecture are executives or chief architects of design organizations, design bureaus, small design companies and private architectural workshops. Graduates of the faculty also hold positions of district architects of Poltava and other regions of Ukraine. Many graduates of the faculty devoted themselves to scientific and pedagogical work, became candidates and doctors of sciences. The history of the Architectural faculty is inextricably linked with the names of prominent scientists who worked at the faculty in different years: L.S. Weingort, P.P. Kazakov, K.V. Gladysh, O.A. Shumilin, M.I. Kalinin, V.O. Tregubov, V.M. Lyakh, G.A. Negai and others.

 

There are about 800 students studying at the institute for the "Bachelor" and "Master" degrees, their training is in the field of knowledge:

After obtaining a Bachelor's Degree, students can continue their studies for a Master's Degree in educational and professional programs:

During the years of existence of the faculties, more than 20 thousand engineers-builders and architects, more than 300 candidates and doctors of sciences, over 200 specialists of different levels for foreign countries were trained. All specialties of the institute are licensed and accredited at the highest level ІV. About 100 teachers work at the departments of the educational-scientific institute, including 11 doctors of sciences, professors and more than 80 candidates of sciences. The Institute successfully operates research laboratories, there are three scientific schools.

 

Graduates of the Institute of speciality 191 work in design, engineering, research organizations, architectural and specialized architectural organizations, in urban planning and architecture departments with state authorities of all levels (city, district, region), architectural workshops, design studios and firms different forms of ownership.

 

Graduates of the Institute of specialties 192, 193 work in design, research organizations, construction and specialized construction organizations, in the enterprises of the construction industry and in firms of various forms of ownership, enterprises, organizations and institutions of land management and geodesic profile of various forms of ownership, design and research institutes and others like that.

 

Graduates of the specialty 023 work in design organizations of the artistic profile, creative workshops of easel painting, artistic ceramics, in the collections of artistic, ethnographic and ethnographic museums; secondary, special and higher educational establishments, art studios, academic and branch research institutions.

 

Many graduates work as teachers of higher educational establishments, colleges, technical schools and vocational schools. Among them there are candidates and doctors of science, associate professors, professors, correspondent members of the academies of sciences, academicians.

 

The institute has a specialized academic council for the protection of doctoral and master's theses in the specialties 05.23.01 «Building constructions, buildings and structures», 05.23.02 «Bases and foundations».

 

Scientific-research laboratories of constructions departments of metal, wood and plastics structures, reinforced concrete and stone structures and materials resistance are functioning successfully at the educational-scientific institute; technologies of building constructions, products and materials; organization and technology of construction and labor protection; "Creative Workshop" of the Department of Fundamentals of Architecture; "Center of Contemporary Art PoltNTU" Department of Fine Arts - a comprehensive research site for scientific and creative development.

 

Scientific schools are headed by leading scientists who are known not only in Ukraine but also far beyond its borders. The following scientific schools operate at the Institute: research and implementation in the construction of steel reinforced concrete structures - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Storozhenko L.I .; reliability of building structures - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Pichugin S.F.; Research of reinforced concrete structures on complex types of loads - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Pavlikov A.M. Research on other scientific areas is also actively conducted: reliability and risks of complex constructions - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Semko O.V.; technologies and durability of building structures, products and materials – R.M. Akhmednabiev, V.V. Shulgin.

 

Author's team of scientists, among them the rector of PoltNTU, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor V.O. Onyshchenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Metal, Wood and Plastics Structures S.F. Pichugin, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Construction O.V. Semko, doctor of technical sciences, professor of the chair of constructions from metal, wood and plastics L.I. Storozhenko received the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology in 2011 for the study "High-performance technologies and complex designs in industrial and civil construction."

191 «Architecture and Urban Development»

Training of highly skilled specialists in specialty 191 "Architecture and Urban Development" of an educational degree "Bachelor", qualification - Bachelor of Architecture. Level of education - basic higher education. Term of studies - 3 years 10 months.

Profile of work – the execution of work drawings, nodes and parts of new objects or in the reconstruction of buildings and structures for residential, public and industrial purposes.

The main places of work are architectural workshops in state design institutes, design bureaus or private architectural firms. Primary positions – technician-architect, other positions of architectural and technical personnel, teacher of educational disciplines of professional direction in professional educational institutions, etc.

The training of specialists in the specialty is carried out on the intramural and accelerated forms of training.

The term of studies at the educational level "junior specialist" for an accelerated intramural form of training is 2 years 10 months.

The training of highly skilled specialists in the specialty 191 "Architecture and Urban Development" of the educational degree "Master" in the educational and professional program "Architecture of buildings and structures", "Urban Development", "Design of Architectural Environment" qualify: Architect, Master of Architecture.

Profile of work – research and design of residential, public, industrial and agricultural buildings and structures, their interiors; designing of city-planning and garden-park complexes, architectural and urban construction activities and reconstruction of settlements; design of the architectural environment and elements of its substantive content; development of projects of reconstruction and restoration of architectural monuments; organizational and managerial, research and pedagogical activity in the field of architecture and urban planning.

The main places of work are design, design, research organizations, architectural and specialized architectural organizations, higher educational establishments, urban planning and architecture at state authorities of all levels (city, district, oblast), architectural workshops, design studios and firms of different forms of ownership.

 

192 «INDUSTRIAL AND CIVIL ENGINEERING»

Students in specialty 192 "Industrial and Civil Engineering" receive a degree in the same specialty or in the following educational-professional programs:

  • Industrial and civil engineering
  • Urban construction and economy

  • Technologies of building structures, products and materials
  • Automobile roads, streets and settlements roads

  • Water supply and sewerage
  • Agricultural construction
  • Design and construction of oil and gas complex facilities
  • Operation, repair and strengthened of structures of buildings and structures

 

Students in the educational and professional program "Industrial and Civil Engineering" acquire skills in designing, constructing, exploiting buildings and structures, examining, evaluating the technical condition, developing measures for their repair and reconstruction. Students learn to use normative literature; to determine the technical condition of buildings, structures and constructions; to carry out calculations of new and strengthened structures; to carry out the documentation in accordance with the current normative requirements.

Specialists can carry out the work of the design engineer in design organizations, the master at the construction site, and act as a customer.

Students in the educational and professional program "Urban Construction and Economy" acquire the skills of rational designing of new urban areas and residential and public buildings, as well as reconstruction of individual buildings and structures, taking into account regulatory requirements for planning of residential development. Specialists can work on the positions of engineer-designers in design organizations, the master and others.

Students in the educational-professional program "Technologies of building structures, products and materials" acquire skills in organizing the technological process of manufacturing building structures, products and materials taking into account technical and economic features, raw material base, existing equipment.

Specialists are able to carry out professional work of a technological engineer at factories of building products or building materials and can hold positions: technologist, design engineer, construction engineer.

Students in the educational-professional program "Automobile roads, streets and roads of settlements" acquire skills of designing, building, reconstruction and operation of highways in conditions of constant growth of traffic intensity, increase of load-carrying capacity of vehicles, increase of requirements to quality of coverage and requirements for improvement of the adjoining territory.

Specialists can carry out the work of the design engineer in design organizations, the master and act as a customer.

Students in the educational and professional program "Water Supply and Sewage" acquire skills in the design, construction, reconstruction and operation of water management systems, development of measures for the integrated use of water resources. Main workplaces: design and research institutes, construction and operating organizations, housing and utilities, associations of co-owners of multi-apartment buildings, departments of chief power engineer at industrial enterprises, water supply and sewage treatment facilities, water supply and sewage enterprises, water resources management, training establishments

Students in the educational and professional program "Design and construction of oil and gas complex facilities" acquire skills in design, construction, buildings and structures of oil and gas complex, inspection, evaluation of technical condition, development of measures for their repair and reconstruction.

Specialists can carry out the work of the design engineer in design organizations, the master and act as a customer.

 

The training of highly skilled specialists in specialty 192 "Construction and civil engineering" for educational and professional programs is carried out at the following educational levels:

Bachelor (qualification: Bachelor of Construction) - an educational specialist who, on the basis of complete general secondary education, received general technical training, fundamental and vocational-oriented knowledge and skills in his field (basic higher education), and who is able to solve the typical professional tasks provided for for relevant posts.

Term of studies - 3 years 10 months.

Main job places: The bachelor is primarily prepared for further higher education in the field of construction. He may hold positions of technical staff and work under the direction of a construction engineer, and if there is a production experience, independently in enterprises and construction organizations of various forms of ownership - as a master.

Master's degree (qualification: engineer-builder, master's degree in construction) - specialist degree, which, on the basis of a bachelor's or specialist's qualification, has acquired advanced special skills and knowledge of innovative character, has some experience in their application to solve problem professional tasks in a certain field of the national economy.

The mentioned educational and professional program of master's studies includes in-depth basic, humanitarian, socio-economic, psychological and pedagogical, special and scientific and practical training.

Term of studies: 1.4 - 2 years after obtaining the degree "Bachelor".

Main job places: the master has training, focused mainly on research and teaching work, but also can perform all functions of a specialist. The Master has an advantage in contests for the posting of research staff and teachers.

 

193 «Geodesy and land management»

Training of specialists in specialty 193 "Geodesy and land management" is carried out on an educational degree - a bachelor. After receiving the diploma of an educational degree "bachelor" you can continue studying in an educational degree "master".

 

Qualification - a bachelor of geodesy and land management, who can take primary positions in the specialty and work under the guidance of a specialist or a master, and with the availability of production experience - on their own.

Term of studies - 3 years 10 months.

Profile of work: determining the shape and size of the land; creation of topographical and cadastral maps and plans; inventory and land degradation; use of information systems, etc.

Main employment sites: enterprises, organizations and institutions of land management and geodesic profile of various forms of ownership, design and research institutes, and others like that.

 

Primary posts. Name of the professional group: cartography and topography; technical specialists in the field of physical sciences and engineering; drawers.

Professional title of work: geodesist; land surveyor; cartographer; cartographer-compiler; card editor technical card editor; topographer; cadastral topographer; photogrammetrist; specialist in geosystem monitoring of the environment; technician-geodesist; aerial photodetector; technician-photogrammetrist; technician-land surveyor; technician-cartographer; technician-topographer; cadastral technician.

Master (qualification - master of geodesy and land management).

Term of studies: 1,4 - 2 years after obtaining an educational degree "Bachelor".

 

The training of specialists in the above-mentioned specialties and educational-professional programs is carried out by full-time, part-time and accelerated forms of training.

The term "bachelor" on the basis of the "junior specialist" degree in accelerated full-time and part-time studies is 2 years 10 months.

 

023 «Fine art, decorative art, restoration»

The training of highly skilled specialists in specialty 023 "Fine art, decorative art, restoration" of educational degrees "Bachelor" and "Master" according to educational and professional program "Fine arts, decorative art, restoration" are qualified by the artist of fine arts, decorative art, restoration, teacher of artistic culture. The term of study - 3 years 10 months and 1 year and 4 months respectively.

Profile of work: creation of performance in the material of artistic works in the conditions of creative workshop and production, works of easel painting and artistic ceramics for decoration of interiors of residential and public purposes, scientific research in the field of history and theory of fine arts, pedagogical activity and teaching of artistic disciplines.

The main places of work: design organizations of artistic profile, creative workshops of easel painting, artistic ceramics, art collections, local lore and ethnographic museums; secondary, special and higher educational institutions, art studios, academic and industry research institutions.

The training of specialists in the specialty is carried out on the full-time and accelerated forms of training.

The term "bachelor" on the basis of educational level "junior specialist" on the accelerated full-time form of training - 2 years 10 months.

 

All specialties are licensed and accredited for the IV level.

 

Students have the opportunity to undergo military training under the reserve officers program.

Annually the Institute conducts an International scientific-practical conference "Architecture: Aesthetics + Economics + Ecology" in early October.

 

Once every two years at the end of October, the Institute holds an International scientific and technical conference "Steel reinforced concrete constructions: research, design, construction, operation".

 

Every year, the Institute holds an All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference for Students, Young Scientists and Research Workers at the beginning of November "An Architectural Drawing in the Context of Vocational Education".
