Specialists of the company “Elsevier”, one of the largest publishers of scientific literature in the world, in order to effectively support the scientific activities of Ukrainian scientists in the conditions of war, created an electronic resource center, with the help of which Ukrainian researchers can register and gain access to the important research tools of the company – the abstract, bibliographic database “Scopus”; the full-text database “ScienceDirect”; the module for finding researchers for establishing contacts and collaboration “Researcher Discovery”; the training platform “Researcher Academy” and the software for managing bibliographic information “Mendeley”.
“Elsevier” also canceled the payment for the publication of articles (APCs) by Ukrainian scientists in open access journals (Gold Open Access Journals). In case of questions, contact by e-mail: agreementactivation@elsevier.com.
It should be noted that at the beginning of August, Ukrainian scientists who had previously received access to the “Scopus” database through the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine received e-mails from Elsevier with detailed information on the possibilities of using the company’s resources as well as a personal registration ID and password for gaining access. If such a letter has not been sent to the e-mail, in order to receive registration data, one must fill out the form at the link, after which the relevant information will be sent to the specified e-mail address. The company’s specialists have prepared step-by-step instructions for setting up access.
Access to the “Scopus” database is still provided within the framework of joining institutions through the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine. In addition, access to a range of Elsevier medical resources for scientists and clinicians is provided.
It should be recalled that a platform was created for the popularization of Ukrainian science, the database of experts was updated to review scientific (scientific and technical) works submitted to competitions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and representatives of higher education institutions were invited to take a course on grant activities.
