Graduates of the Department of Military Training are solemnly presented with officer’s epaulets

On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” held solemnities, during which graduates of the university Department of Military Training were awarded officer ranks and epaulets.

On December 2, celebrations were held on the occasion of awarding officer ranks to graduates of the Department of Military Training of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and the presentation of epaulets.

According to the Order of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine of October 11, 2021 №485, 85 graduates of the university Department of Military Training were awarded the primary rank of “junior reserve lieutenant”. Graduates of the Department of Military Training demonstrated deep knowledge, abilities and practical skills during the final certification, successfully combining two years of mastering the educational program with mastering the military one.

Honorary guests attended the solemn ceremony of awarding officer ranks and epaulets to graduates of the university Department of Military Training. They were the rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, reserve lieutenant colonel, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko; Deputy Military Commissioner of the Poltava Joint Territorial Center for Complex and Social Support, participant in military operations, Lieutenant Colonel Eduard Borodai; Military Commissioner of the Poltava Joint Territorial Center for Complex and Social Support, participant in military operations, Colonel Oleksandr Turchenko; and Vice-Rector of Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Vasyl Fazan.

“Officers, graduates of the Department of Military Training of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”! Congratulations on a significant event in your life – graduation from the Department of Military Training and receiving the primary military rank of “junior reserve lieutenant”! It is today that you have the greatest responsibility – to protect the state’s sovereignty, the territorial integrity of our country, the lives and health of its citizens. I am extremely proud that the Decree of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine of March 25, 2015 restored military training at our university, and military specialists together with a wonderful team of professional lecturers are constantly improving its quality. Undoubtedly, our guests also join in the education of patriotic youth, worthy successors of glorious traditions, passing on their combat experience to the younger generation.

During the training, young officers acquired the skills necessary for their professional future, as the university creates favorable conditions for the education of harmoniously developed individuals, worthy citizens and true heroes of their country. In my firm belief, the strength of our army is in young, brave and professionally trained military personnel, so I sincerely wish you good health, success in education, professional activities, be patriots and proudly bear the title of officer and graduate of Poltava Polytechnic Department of Military Training!” – congratulated the rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, reserve lieutenant colonel, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko and thanked the invited guests for the active participation, comprehensive assistance in providing scientific and methodical as well as practical assistance in training cadets of the Department of Military Training.

According to the Deputy Military Commissioner of the Poltava Joint Territorial Center for Complex and Social Support, a graduate of the Department of Military Training of Poltava Polytechnic, a participant in military operations, Lieutenant Colonel Eduard Borodai, the young officers adopted useful knowledge and practical experience of the best lecturers, which will definitely come in handy at the crucial moment.

“The ranks of promising professional personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been replenished with patriotic youth and strategic reserves of the Ukrainian army. The future of our country is in safe hands! I wish you life inspiration, well-considered decisions, courageous victory in our mutual difficult task – the defense of our homeland! Good health, peaceful sky and success in all endeavors!” – wished everyone Eduard Borodai.

The Military Commissioner of the Poltava Joint Territorial Center for Complex and Social Support, participant of military operations, Colonel Oleksandr Turchenko and Vice-Rector of the Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Vasyl Fazan joined the solemn congratulations on the occasion of the professional holiday, wishing to remember the words of the oath and to be successful in serving the Ukrainian people.

The bright memory of the fallen heroes was honored with a moment of silence and laying flowers at the memorial stele to the fallen lecturers and students of World War II, memorial plaques to the fallen university graduate Dmytro Koriak and third-year student of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Construction and Land Management Maksym Khitailov.

For high achievements in military training and on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Diplomas of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” were awarded to:

  • students of the Educational and Research Institute of Information Technologies and Robotics – Roman Hannokha, Roman Kyrpota, and Mykola Movin;
  • students of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas – Bohdan Bekhter, Stanislav Nepochatov, Volodymyr Reutenko, Nataliia Ulchenko;
  • student of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Construction and Land Management – Serhii Babadzhanov;
  • student of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law – Bohdan Pokhidnia;
  • student of the Faculty of Humanities – Anton Velychko;
  • graduates of the Department of Military Training of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” – Oleksandr Bilka, Pavlo Zharin, Anna Maslova, Iryna Frolova, and Oleksandr Chyrvon.

Demonstrative performances in hand-to-hand combat were demonstrated by students of the Department of Military Training of Poltava Polytechnic.

Vocal gifts for the audience were prepared by Danylo Reveka, a graduate of the university Department of Military Training; Ilona Novikova, a student of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, and a trio of students Mariia Serba, Valeriia Tuz, and Nadiia Sadova.

Last year, graduates of the Department of Military Training were awarded the rank of “junior reserve lieutenant” in a new format.

It is worth noting that the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” remains the only higher education institution in the Poltava region, subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, with its own military department, where Ukrainian citizens have the opportunity to undergo the program of reserve officers and to master military specialty, in parallel with their main specialty, as well as receive the officer rank of “junior reserve lieutenant”.
