On March 1, 2022, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet met with Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Poland Przemysław Czarnek.
"Mr. Czarnek and I discussed the consequences of the brutal, shameful and large-scale aggression of the Russian Federation. I appealed to my colleague with a request to immediately terminate all relations with the Russian Federation in the field of education and science, as well as officially in his speeches and statements to condemn the actions of the Russian Federation and express support for Ukraine," – noted Serhii Shkarlet.
The Minister of Education of the Republic of Poland, in turn, assured of the absolute support of Ukraine and its people. Przemysław Czarnek said that the Republic of Poland condemns the Russian Federation's barbaric actions against Ukraine and has already severed all educational, scientific and research relations with the aggressor country, saying this publicly at the highest level.
Already, Poland is one of the countries that actively accepts Ukrainian citizens who have been forced to leave their homes. Mr. Czarnek assured that on the part of all Polish educational institutions we can count on all possible support for children and their further education.
"I am now receiving many questions from Ukrainian students studying at Polish universities about the possibility of deferring tuition fees and accommodation due to the dirty attack of the Russian Federation. "I am proud of our students who study in Poland and now help their compatriots in every possible way 24/7. Ukraine is a European state. Today we strive for full membership in the EU. And international colleagues support us in this," – stressed the Minister.
It should be recalled that the Ministers of Education of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia support Ukraine.
