The Volunteer Center of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” held a charity concert on Children’s Day. The hryvnia of any face value served as an entrance ticket to the event.
“February 24 forever divided the life of every Ukrainian into “before” and “after”. The mind stubbornly refused to believe in a real military threat, unacceptable in the civilized world. But the rushists were wrong – Ukrainians are a strong, unconquered nation! Probably, each of us remembers the first days of the war and the unknown, when we tried in every way possible to help and be useful to our own country. Many citizens of Poltava consciously joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, became volunteers and benefactors, and our university actively prepared shelter and retreat for those who needed it most. The teachers of the Polytechnic willingly responded to our initiatives and transferred one day’s earnings to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – almost 300 thousand hryvnias!
At the moment, everyone has their own front, and we honorably carry out the assigned mission – to ensure the quality of the educational process and continue effective scientific activity, create favorable conditions for the residents of the student campus, internally displaced persons and help partner universities that suffered from the military aggression of the enemy, help the Ukrainian army, which will soon bring the long-awaited Victory.
A vivid example was the charity concert presented by our talented youth and artists who make their personal contribution to our common future. I am proud that I am Ukrainian, I am proud that my children were born, grow up and study in independent Ukraine! And, as great patriots of Ukraine, joined the charity concert in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine! And I am proud of the students of Poltava Polytechnic!
This will be enough to purchase a thermal imager as well as to cover other needs of defenders of Ukraine. And there are many of them. The other day, I received front news from our graduate, Candidate of Technical Sciences, university teacher from 2013 to 2020, Vadym Dorohobid, who joined the service in the AFU “Edelweiss”, about the needs of the unit. And now a lot of our graduates have joined the defense of the country! Every hryvnia is important! This is understood by little children who, instead of having fun, threw in their pocket money for defenders, and serious businessmen who do not miss any opportunity for good deeds. Our family also contributed 5,000 hryvnias. Since that is how the academic slogan of Poltava Polytechnic sounds: “Ubi Concordia, Ibi Victoria” (“Where there is unity, there is victory”)!
Our alma mater can be proud of its talented, patriotic and enterprising students and graduates, Professionals with a capital letter and good people who are not indifferent to today’s troubled realities.
The outstanding host of the student concert, Ivan Ksenzhuk, a three-time graduate of the Poltava Polytechnic, and now an assistant to the People’s Deputy of Ukraine and the rector of the Poltava Polytechnic for work with students, provided a bright mood and positive emotions that have not subsided in many teachers and students to this day! Thank you and the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a unique evening!
It is worth noting that the qualitative changes that have taken place at the university, which our graduates are pleasantly surprised by, would not have been possible without socially responsible businesses, institutions and companies – the university’s long-standing partners, who also took part in this holiday. European education, high standards of acquired knowledge, an excellent laboratory base, and a high percentage of successful employed specialists have become a reality thanks to our cooperation with people who breathe with the university, contributing to its prosperity. And they are proud that in the Poltava region and in Ukraine there is such a modern and authoritative, highly rated university – the Poltava Polytechnic, in which an atmosphere of mutual respect and democracy reigns!
I express my sincere gratitude to everyone who came to support Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular to socially responsible business managers, to friends – Andrii Sokolov, Yurii Boiko, Oleh Khardin, Ihor Vitryk, Valerii and Liubov Smagliuk, Yurii Shliakhov, academic staff of Poltava Polytechnic, all educators, students, residents of Poltava as well as everyone involved in a great common cause – the approach of our Victory!
We are a strong, invincible nation; we will do everything it takes to ensure that our children have a bright, cloudless childhood and a happy future! Everything will be Ukraine!
Glory to Ukraine! Death to enemies!” – said the Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

An incredible waltz was performed by Anastasiia and Sofiia Onyshchenko and the members of the university Folk-Amateur Sports and Ballroom Dance Studio “Lehenda” (“Legend”).
A very touching performance was presented by students of the creative center of Nataliia Mai. The audience did not hide their tears, because the song was about the greatest horror of war – little angels who suffer torment without guilt, and children whose lives were taken by soulless enemies...
Within the framework of the charity evening, there was an art exhibition of the works of polytechnic students from the “Raging” project. These paintings were created for the music video of Artem Loik and singer Abiie for the song of the same name. One of the paintings became a charity lot, which was purchased by Poltava businessman Oleg Khardin. He offered to raffle off another lot – patriotic socks from the new collection. The proceeds were also transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“I am amazed by the incredible atmosphere that reigns within the walls of one of the best Ukrainian universities. I thank the youth of the Poltava Polytechnic for their care and willingness to help to the best of their ability and to create a holiday for those who are in dire need of it at the moment. I am happy to join and support our Armed Forces. We believe in our imminent Victory!” – stressed Oleh Khardin.
After the concert, student-activists and student-volunteers received awards – Citation of the rector and People’s Deputy of Ukraine Andrii Bobliakh.
“Our students are incredible, talented and patriotic! The charity concert in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was extraordinary in terms of emotional elevation and effective in terms of financial performance. The most valuable thing is that young people do it at the call of their hearts and really on a volunteer basis. And among my various honors, I am very proud that young people appreciated the support of the initiatives.
In the Citation, which the students awarded me with, there is a very touching wording – for an active attitude in life, constant and effective support of student initiatives, professional and professional leadership guidance, an example of true patriotism to the home university and state, a significant personal contribution to the development and support of the volunteer movement, SUSTAINABILITY and PRINCIPLES as well as for facilitating a charity concert in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
