Oil and Gas Students of Poltava Polytechnic Master World-Class Technologies Provided by Weatherford

Third- and fourth-year students of the educational programs “Well Drilling” and “Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology” visited the production site of Weatherford Ukraine. During the practical training session, they learned about the technological processes of preparing service equipment for well drilling and had the opportunity to see modern technical solutions used at leading fields around the world.

Under the supervision of the company’s leading specialists, students studied the operating principle of devices for impact release of the drill string during emergency stuck pipe situations. Experts explained in detail all stages of preparing this equipment for operation, described the specifics of its use at drilling sites, and emphasized the importance of following technological requirements.

Special attention was given to modern equipment for geophysical well logging. Future professionals learned about various types of tools for performing geophysical operations, their functional capabilities, and the specifics of their application in real production conditions. Students also became familiar with the latest geophysical units by Weatherford, which enable the study of geological structures and the oil and gas potential of underground formations at a high technical level.

The practical training at the production site allowed students not only to see complex engineering systems and equipment but also to deepen the theoretical knowledge acquired at the university. This form of training significantly increases students’ professional competence and contributes to forming a new generation of engineers ready to work in the high-tech environment of the modern oil and gas industry.

The cooperation between Poltava Polytechnic and Weatherford provides students with real opportunities for professional growth and familiarization with the most advanced technologies of the global industry. Such practical training sessions build strong human potential and ensure the preparation of specialists capable of working effectively at both Ukrainian and international oil and gas enterprises.
