On 23-26 June 2025, President of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, as a member of the delegation of the Union of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine, paid an official visit to Warsaw and took part in the Polish-Ukrainian Joint Rectors’ Day. The event was held at Warsaw University of Technology with the participation of representatives of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP) and the Union of Rectors of Ukraine (ZRUU).
This year’s program was devoted to an extremely relevant topic – “Partnership of Poland and Ukraine in Higher Education: Participation in Global Science”.
During the rectors’ debates with the members of KRASP and ZRUU delegations, Volodymyr Onyshchenko actively joined the discussion of the systemic conditions of scientific activity in both countries and the prospects of expanding the participation of research teams in international projects.
During the first session “Systemic Prerequisites of Polish-Ukrainian Research Cooperation”, Volodymyr Onyshchenko shared Poltava Polytechnic’s experience of commercializing scientific research and attracting financial investments through the effective activity of scientific schools, in particular in the context of the implementation of the large-scale project of the European Investment Bank “Higher Education. Energy Efficient Technologies”.
Particularly valuable was the discussion of the system of functioning and financing of science and innovation in both countries, the analysis of common challenges and opportunities for future cooperation. The participants came to a common conclusion about the need to increase the participation of Polish and Ukrainian researchers in world science through the implementation of joint research projects.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland Vasyl Bondar participated in the visit, which emphasizes the high state support for the Ukrainian-Polish academic dialogue.

During the meeting, President of Poltava Polytechnic Volodymyr Onyshchenko thanked Rector of Warsaw University of Technology Krzysztof Zaremba for his warm hospitality, as well as his Polish colleagues and friends, Rector of AGH University of Krakow Jerzy Lis and Rector of Bialystok University of Technology Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, for the informative and pleasant communication. Volodymyr Onyshchenko also praised Iryna Dehtiarova for her professional coordination of the events and thanked Jerzy Woznicki, the leader of an important project to develop Polish-Ukrainian university cooperation, emphasizing that such meetings are of paramount importance for strengthening the strategic partnership between Ukrainian and Polish higher education, as deepening scientific cooperation, sharing experiences and joint participation in global research projects not only strengthen academic ties between the countries but also create a solid foundation for innovative development.
It should be reminded that representatives of Poltava Polytechnic took part in the All-Ukrainian Forum “Days of Educational Leadership” in the indomitable Zaporizhzhia.
