Polytechnic athletes become gold medallists of the Championship of Ukraine in weightlifting among juniors and adults

Students and graduates of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” won the first overall team place at the Championship of Ukraine in weightlifting among juniors and adults. The athletes of the Poltava Polytechnic won a full set of awards in various categories, having demonstrated good results in confrontations with experienced opponents.

Polytechnic athletes become gold medallists of the Championship of Ukraine in weightlifting among juniors and adults

During March 2-5, 2023 in the village of Polianytsia of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the Championship of Ukraine in weightlifting among adults and juniors was hosted. Athletes of the kettlebell section – students and graduates of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” – became active participants of the Championship, and won the first overall team place, demonstrating good results in confrontations with experienced opponents.

The Poltava region team was represented at the competition by:

  • Oleksandr Tsybulko, student of group 201-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, Master of Sports of Ukraine in kettlebell sports;
  • Oleksandr Svyrydenko, student of group 201-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in kettlebell sports;
  • Yelyzaveta Myrna, student of group 201-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, Master of Sports of Ukraine in kettlebell sports;
  • Yevhen Ostapchuk, a graduate of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Master of Sports of Ukraine in kettlebell sports, multiple times European champion;
  • Yaroslav Sushko, a graduate of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in kettlebell sports, world champion, multiple times European champion;
  • Ihor Havryshko, a graduate of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in kettlebell sports, world champion, multiple times European champion;
  • Anton Chuiko, student of group 201-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, Master of Sports of Ukraine.

The Poltava Polytechnic athletes performed well at prestigious competitions and won a full set of tournament awards, including:

  • Oleksandr Svyrydenko became the winner of a full set of awards:

I place – long cycle among juniors;

III place – long cycle among adults;

II place – duelling among adults;

II place – duelling among juniors;

I place – team relay (push, juniors);

I place – team relay (long cycle, juniors);

  • Anton Chuiko won:

I place – duelling among juniors;

II place – duelling among adults;

III place – team relay (push, juniors).

  • Oleksandr Tsibulko won:

III place – long cycle among juniors;

I place – team relay (long cycle, juniors);

II place – duelling among juniors;

I place – team relay (push, juniors).

  • Yelyzaveta Myrna became the best in:

I place – long cycle among juniors;

I place – long cycle among adults;

III place – duelling among adults;

III place – duelling among juniors;

III place – P12 adults;

III place – P12 juniors.

The winners and prize-winners of the competition are awarded Honourable Diplomas as well as gold, silver and bronze medals.

Previously, the Polytechnic team became the champion of the XVIII Universiade of Poltava region in basketball, the Polytechnic team won the All-Ukrainian sports billiards competition “Free Pyramid”, the Polytechnic student Dariia Holovko became the champion of Ukraine and the absolute bronze champion in powerlifting according to the IPF formula among juniors, and the student of FPCS Valeriia Koniukhova became champion of Ukraine in powerlifting among girls.
