In accordance with the program of reserve officers training, the students performed exercises, which included range practice firing from AK-74 assault rifles, firing practice with Makarov gun, grenade throwing.
The high level of organization and adherence to the regulations of actions with weapons during the examinations were ensured by Ihor Mytsiuk, the Head of the 179th Joined Educational and Training Center of the Signal Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the soldiers of the Center.
Rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko visited the examinations and, together with Ihor Mytsiuk, participant of the operation in the AO, performed the tasks in firing too.
“It was a great pleasure to visit the classes of the Military Department. It’s wonderful that we also have female students training in the military. I recalled my own military service (1987-1989) and studying at the Military Department at my alma mater. Now I’m a reserve lieutenant colonel. By the way, I think the military service years were ones of the best in my life! I am sure that a real man should pass the school of masculinity and be able to defend his family and Ukraine!” Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko said.
First-year students showed good and excellent results, solidified their theoretic knowledge received at the Department over the year. For example, the third-year student of Education and Research Institute Oleksii Lytviak is excellent in both gun and assault rifle fire. This April, the student became winner of the scientific research competition in Welding, but at the same time he showed great results in the military field.
The Military Department of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” is an important structural division of the higher education institution, which provides military and national-patriotic education of the youth. The program for students to become reserve officers includes three military specializations and lasts for 2 years.
