Scientist of Poltava Polytechnic undergoes academic mobility in Germany as part of an international environmental project

Within the framework of a project entitled “Ukrainian-German Digital Educational Network for the Transformation of Environmental Education”, Olena Dvirna, Head of Department of Computer and Information Technologies and Systems of Poltava Polytechnic, took part in an academic mobility at Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development (HNEE, Germany).

On 2-6 June 2025, Head of the Department of Computer and Information Technologies and Systems of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Olena Dvirna took part in the academic mobility at Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development (HNEE, Germany).

The visit took place within the international project “Ukrainian-German Digital Education Network for the Transformation of Environmental Education” (Consolidation and Expansion Phase, 2025), which is implemented with the financial support of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

The mobility program included an intensive course “Designing Future Economies”, which combined theoretical modules with practical classes on systems thinking, social innovation, and sustainable development. Moreover, during her stay, the scientist held a series of business meetings with HNEE’s academic staff to discuss areas of further cooperation, exchange of educational resources, and opportunities to participate in joint research and educational projects.

“Studying at HNEE has become a source of new ideas, effective teaching methods, and modern vision of development of economies focused on sustainability and social responsibility. We sincerely appreciate our cooperation with European partners, which brings new opportunities for Poltava Polytechnic to modernize the educational process and international integration,” Olena Dvirna commented on the results of the trip.

The knowledge and tools gained during the mobility will be integrated into the courses on Information Technology, Environmental Management and Digital Innovations taught at Poltava Polytechnic.

The University expresses its sincere gratitude to DAAD and partners from the Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development for promoting international educational cooperation and supporting Ukrainian higher education institutions in the face of transformational challenges.

Recently, a representative of Poltava Polytechnic took part in the Council of Europe's forum on History Education: Philological Perspectives on the Dialogue on Memory and Democracy, Kseniia Verhal took part in an event on academic mobility in STEM fields of higher education; a postgraduate student of Poltava Polytechnic won the second place at a prestigious international competition in Vienna, a delegation of Polytechnic teachers took part in the Erasmus+ academic mobility program at the Romanian partner university Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, Associate Professor of Poltava Polytechnic Iryna Chernetska took part in the prestigious IVLP exchange program, students of Polytechnic shared their impressions of the Erasmus+ internship at ISCAP (Portugal), and the delegation of Polytechnic took part in the academic mobility under the Erasmus+ program within the ISCAP International Week, which was held at Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto (ISCAP).

It should be noted that Poltava Polytechnic lecturers can participate in academic mobility programmes and internships, and students of Poltava Polytechnic have the opportunity to study abroad under the grant programmes of credit academic mobility for a semester or a whole academic year at the leading universities of Austria, Greenland, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Finland, and the Czech Republic.
