Scientists from the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports hold a conference on physical rehabilitation

On November 23, the VII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Internet Conference with International Participation “Physical Rehabilitation and Health-Saving Technologies: Realities and Prospects” was conducted on the basis of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. It was dedicated to the problems of implementing health-saving technologies in everyday life and professional activities of citizens of European countries. Participants exchanged practical experience.

Scientists from the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports hold a conference on physical rehabilitation

On the basis of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” an annual large-scale scientific event took place, which was actively attended by rehabilitation specialists and scientists from leading Ukrainian and foreign partner universities. Due to quarantine restrictions, the VII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Internet Conference with International Participation “Physical Rehabilitation and Health-Saving Technologies: Realities and Prospects” was held online using Zoom apps and brought together representatives of several European countries to deliberate on topical issues of physical rehabilitation.

Scientific and pedagogical staff of leading Ukrainian higher education institutions, postgraduate students, those receiving higher education, physical therapists, social workers, medical workers, and coaches joined active scientific discussion in order to exchange scientific knowledge and practical experience on modern technologies of physical therapy and ergotherapy, experience in preparing future physical therapists and ergotherapists, health aspects of physical culture, sports and physical recreation, modern health-saving technologies in education. Scientists of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport, Educational and Scientific Olympic Institute of the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport, Kyiv National Economic University, Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies, Sumy State A. S. Makarenko Pedagogical University, Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Khortytsia National Academy, Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University, Poltava State Medical University, Poltava State Agrarian University, Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University, Poltava Institute of Economics and Law of the University “Ukraine”, Municipal Higher Education Institution “Poltava Basic Medical College”, Department of Health of the Poltava Regional State Administration, Public utility company “Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital named after M. Sklifosovskyi of Poltava Regional Council”, and public organization “Ukrainian Physical Therapists Association” shared useful practical cases.

Interesting scientific reports, unique achievements in the field of physical rehabilitation were presented by specialists and scientists from leading universities in Belarus, Belgium, France and the United States – Francisk Skorina Gomel State University (Republic of Belarus), Cliniques universitaires Saint-Luc (UCLouvain) (Brussels, Belgium), Arcadia Health Care & Home Service rehabilitation Detroit, Michigan, USA.

The conference participants were greeted by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Lina Rybalko, Deputy Director of the Department of Health of the Poltava Regional State Administration Yurii Kurylko, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Senior Lecturer, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy of Poltava Polytechnic Viktoriia Horoshko, who noted the steady interest of Ukrainian and foreign scientists in these issues and wished new significant achievements in the field of scientific and research activity, physical rehabilitation and ergotherapy.

“I am glad to join such an honorable audience and share the opinion of the scientific community of Poltava region on the relevance and importance of choosing the topic of this scientific event. In my opinion, at the present stage of development of Ukrainian society, the issue of physical rehabilitation needs an immediate, priority solution. The health care system is currently experiencing an era of global reforming, realities are changing, some positive prospects are emerging, and the task of our scientists is to do their best to help solve existing problems. I express my sincere gratitude for the honorable mission you have taken on your shoulders, your significant scientific achievements and author's methods, which will certainly be implemented in real life by specialists of medical institutions of the region. I wish the participants fruitful discussions, vital energy and productive work!” – greeted the partakers Deputy Director of the Department of Health of the Poltava Regional State Administration Yurii Kurylko. Recently, at the joint initiative of the Director of the Department of Health of Poltava Regional State Administration Viktor Lysak and the Rector of the university, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, the coordinator of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign in Poltava region met with Polytechnic students.

According to Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Lina Rybalko, for the seventh year in a row, the university is organizing a powerful All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation, which puts on discussion the most pressing issues of physical rehabilitation and global challenges of today. “In our firm belief, the innovative experience of Poltava Polytechnic in the field of development, renewal of material and technical base and quality practical preparation of highly qualified physical rehabilitation specialists and ergotherapists can be safely used as a practical case for other leading Ukrainian universities. Our educational institution participates in a variety of social projects, and scientists from the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports are working on the development of educational and professional programs for people with special educational needs. Holding conferences of such a high level is another opportunity to discuss existing problems, find and successfully implement ways to solve them triumphantly,” – emphasized the Head of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic. The plenary session was moderated by Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergoherapy of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Nataliia Babych. The working languages of the conference were Ukrainian, English and Russian. Participants deliberated on the issues of implementation of educational programs by higher education institutions in today’s conditions, the implementation of the international classification of functioning in Ukraine, the effectiveness of respiratory physical therapy of cardiac surgery patients at the inpatient stage, presented scientific and methodical cases of using fitness technology in the educational process of those students receiving physical education.

During the plenary session of the conference, Ukrainian and foreign scientists made 18 reports and presented 26 interesting speeches at the section discussions. In total, the organizing committee received 124 abstracts of scientific reports.

During the conference, partakers worked in four thematic sections:

  • Innovative technologies of physical therapy and ergotherapy;
  • Best practices in preparing specialists in physical therapy and ergotherapy;
  • Health aspects of physical culture, sports and recreation;
  • Modern health-saving technologies in education and popularization of a healthy lifestyle.

Scientific deliberations, discussions of theses and practical cases were moderated by experienced scientists of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” – Doctor of Medicine, Professor of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy Serhii Dubinin, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy Viktoriia Horoshko, Candidate of Sciences in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy Nataliia Babych, and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy Liudmyla Kletsenko.

In conclusion, the conference partakers expressed their sincere gratitude to the organizing committee, scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Physical Therapy and Ergotherapy and Rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko. They expressed hope for further fruitful scientific and educational as well as professional cooperation. All participants received certificates.

Based on the results of the VII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Internet Conference with International Participation “Physical Rehabilitation and Health-Saving Technologies: Realities and Prospects” a collection of conference materials will be published in the “Science and Innovation” section of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” official website.

It should be recalled that Poltava Polytechnic is working on a large-scale social project for people with disabilities “Artsport”, scientists and rehabilitation specialists discussed issues of people with disabilities rehabilitation, the German delegation visited the university and discussed priority areas for further cooperation, and an exhibition of inclusive art “Spirit Strength” was opened at the Poltava Art Museum (Art Gallery) named after Mykola Yaroshenko within the framework of the “Artsport” project.

Earlier, scientists in the field of rehabilitation and ergotherapy discussed modern technologies and considered solving the problems of preserving the health of modern youth during the educational process.
