The Toyota World Para Swimming Championships – Singapore 2025 took place in Singapore on September 21-27, with 580 participants from 75 countries joining. The Ukrainian Paralympic team included 36 athletes, including students from National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.
Our students have once again confirmed that they are among the strongest athletes in Ukraine. They represent the country with dignity at prestigious championships and raise the prestige of their home University on the world sports arena.
Eduard Horodianyn, a student of 301-FS group of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, won gold in the 50 m freestyle, became a silver medalist in the 100 m backstroke, and also won two bronze medals – in the 100 m butterfly and 100 m freestyle.
Oleksii Virchenko, a student of 601-FS group of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the Polytechnic, won a gold medal in the 50 m freestyle, became a silver medalist in the 100 m butterfly, and won bronze in the 100 m backstroke.





The effective performances of the Polytechnic students became a bright page of the World Championship and proved that Ukrainian Paralympians are invincible and capable of overcoming any obstacles on the way to victory.
Poltava Polytechnic is sincerely proud of the achievements of its students, because their perseverance, strength of spirit and faith in victory serve as an example to follow. It should be recalled that Oksana Hordiienko, a teacher and trainer at Poltava Polytechnic, is the bronze medalist of Europe 2025 in bench press.
