During the closing ceremony of the mini-football sports tournament “Commonwealth Cup” among the picked teams of scientific and pedagogical staff as well as student teams of structural subdivisions of the university, the Honored Coach of Ukraine, senior lecturer of the Department of Physical Education, head coach of the university mini-football team Oleksii Vorobiov’s and the students’ mini-football team of Poltava Polytechnic significant sporting achievements were noted as they were congratulated. The team was the winner of the All-Ukrainian beach games among students called “Beach Games”, which took place on September 27-30 in Skadovsk.
The ceremony of awarding the best student team of Ukraine in beach football was attended by the rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the head of a separate unit of the NGO “Sports Student Union of Ukraine” in Poltava region, Doctor of Economics, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, Doctor of Pedagogy, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Lina Rybalko and the Head of the Trade Union Committee of Students and Postgraduates of Poltava Polytechnic Oleksandr Drobotia, who congratulated the athletes and presented Honorary decorations of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.
“It is a pleasure to fulfill such an honorable mission – to greet and award the talented student youth of Poltava Polytechnic, who once again increase the sports glory of the university with their own convincing victory! I am glad that we can meet in an offline format and communicate, express our sincere gratitude to the students and their tireless mentor Oleksii Vorobiov, who put a lot of effort into daily training and literally live by sports.
As for our part, we try to create favorable conditions for the development of student and youth sports in Poltava region, by our own example declaring purposefulness, self-confidence and iron will to win. I wish each of you good health, zeal for life, vigor and new sports victories!” – congratulated them the rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the head of a separate unit of the NGO “Sports Student Union of Ukraine” in Poltava region, Doctor of Economics, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
Honored Coach of Ukraine, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education of Poltava Polytechnic Oleksii Vorobiov was presented an Honorable decoration of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and given a bounty for significant personal contribution to the development and promotion of student football, physical culture and sports, high professionalism in training champions and victory in the All-Ukrainian beach football games among students “Beach Games”.
According to the coach, in his many years of activity there have been difficult moments. When victory seems to slip out of the hands, the main thing is to gather, support his disciples and work even harder during training: “Encouraging youngsters, I see sports zeal in their eyes and keep leading them further, sometimes the voice disappears altogether. I can confidently rely on my boys in any situation; they feel the nuances of the game, listen to each other, and work as a team! I am always with you! And I wish you new victories.”
For the high level of skill and the victory of Poltava Polytechnic at the All-Ukrainian beach games among students called “Beach Games” the students-members of the combined team of the university in mini-football were awarded Citations of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”:

- Andrii Truskal, student of group 301-CE of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas;
- Estefano Sobol, a student of the 101-NG group of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas;
- Vladyslav Karalkin, a student of group 101-MFS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports;
- Serhii Chepa, student of group 102-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports;
- Leonid Morozov, student 101-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports;
- Dmytro Shevchenko, student 101-FS of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports.
Each athlete also received a cash prize of one academic scholarship.
The won trophies replenished the treasury of student sports awards of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.
It should be recalled that the mini-football tournament “Commonwealth Cup” took place at the university, where the team of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas won for the second time.
