There are three sessions for the NMT: the main, additional and special

During the morning broadcast of the All-Ukrainian TV marathon “United News” Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet spoke about current issues of the admission campaign 2022. The Minister explained that the national multi-subject test is not a replacement for external independent evaluation (ZNO), but in fact the same test of knowledge, yet in a different format.

“On April 19, the registration for the NMT was finished, however we envisage at least three sessions: the main, additional and special. That is, there will be 28 attempts twice a day, so everyone will be able to pass the national multi-subject test for admission to higher education institutions of Ukraine,” – noted Serhii Shkarlet.

He also added that participants will have only one attempt to pass the test with crediting the result, since the tasks of the NMT are based on those subjects that must be studied within the school curriculum: the Ukrainian language, mathematics, history of Ukraine.

After April 22, methodological recommendations for preparation for each of the disciplines of the national multi-subject test will be published. The topics on the basis of which questions are to be formed will also be known.

An opportunity for a pilot online test in June is currently being developed. Consultations on online testing with crediting of results for entrants who are in dangerous regions are going on separately.

“Given that NMT is used for conjunctural specialties, as well as for enrollment in the places funded with state budget, we must be sure of complete impartiality in the certification of applicants. So now we consider only offline format. Still in the program of our further consultations with UNICEF and leading IT companies, we do not stop only at offline format. If there is a clear identification of the person, proposals for taking the test online will be considered for entrants, who are at places where the security situation will not allow taking the test,” – said the Minister.

Serhii Shkarlet also informed about the work on the organization of assembly sites for taking NMT not only in Ukraine but also abroad. On the territory of Ukraine, testing will take place centrally online, for which safe places will be selected. In European countries, it is planned to use a network of leading universities, as well as analogues of the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment for NMT.

Earlier, the Minister of Education and Science presented important changes in the mechanism of the admission campaign.
