The National Research Council under the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain has published the international ranking of the world's universities Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics) for July 2023.
According to the updated ranking, the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" ranks 58th and tops the ranking among Poltava state institutions of higher education.
Over the past few years, the university has significantly increased its position in the international ranking of the Ranking Web of Universities, rising by almost 50 positions, which proves the high result of the teamwork of the Poltava Polytechnic’s academic staff and the dynamic development of the university's scientific activity even in the conditions of martial law.

In the July edition of the prestigious international ranking Webometrics, the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" took the 58th place in the all-Ukrainian ranking among more than 300 higher education institutions and retained 1st place among the state higher education institutions of Poltava.
This is the anniversary edition of the Webometrics international ranking, which the National Research Council under the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain has been conducting since 2004.
The academic presence of higher education institutions in the Web space is a sign of the university's modernity and innovation in scientific and educational activities.

Webometrics is the analysis of all types of media information using scientometric, bibliometric and informational approaches. The distinctive features of the Webometrics ranking are the stability of the methodology and the high dynamics of changes in the ranking indicators. While the methodologies of other rankings are constantly changing, the Webometrics ranking principles remain the same.
The ranking system of educational and scientific institutions is based on a combined indicator of three indicators, which takes into account the volume of web content, as well as the impact of publications by the number of external citations:
Visibility – the number of external sources that contain backlinks to the institution's website (calculated by Ahrefs and Majestic);
Transparency – the number of citations by top authors of the institution according to Google Scholar Citations;
Excellence (quality) – the number of articles by the institution's researchers that are among the 10% most cited in 27 disciplines, as calculated by Scimago.
Methods and approaches for evaluating educational institutions correspond to the Berlin Principles on Ranking of Higher Education, which were approved as the basis for comparative studies of national higher education systems by the International Ranking Expert Group (IREG), founded in 2004 by the European Center for Higher Education of UNESCO (UNESCO-CEPES) and the Institute for Higher Education Policy in Washington.
Earlier, Poltava Polytechnic confirmed its leadership among higher education institutions of the Poltava region, taking first place among the universities of the region according to the consolidated ranking of higher education institutions of Ukraine in 2023, and also became the most popular Poltava university among applicants.
