Academic integrity

National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" has the normative documents on academic integrity:

The Code of Academic Integrity and Corporate Culture of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic".

Regulations on Preventing and Detecting Academic Plagiarism in Educational and Scientific Works at National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic".

The Regulations regulate the procedure of checking the scientific works submitted to the specialized academic councils, editors of scientific journals by the employees of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" and representatives of other organizations, as well as the scientific works of the Bachelor, Master and Doctor of Philosophy students studying at the university for academic plagiarism and measures to prevent it, developing the skills of fair and correct work with information sources; compliance with the requirements of scientific ethics.

Regulations on Ethics and Academic Integrity Commission of National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic".

According to Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine "On Education" (https://zakon.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/2145-19):

  • academic integrity is a set of ethical principles and rules defined by the law that should guide the participants of the educational process during learning, teaching and scientific (creative) activities in order to ensure the credibility of the learning outcomes and/or scientific (creative) achievements;
  • academic plagiarism is the publication (in part or in full) of scientific (creative) results obtained by other persons as the results of their own research (creativity) and/or reproduction of published texts (published works of art) of other authors without attribution.

Measures to ensure compliance with academic integrity by students include:

  • independent completion of academic tasks, tasks of current and final control of learning outcomes (for persons with special educational needs, this requirement is applied taking into account their individual needs and capabilities)
  • references to sources of information when using ideas, developments, statements and data;
  • compliance with copyright and related rights legislation;
  • providing reliable information about the results of their own educational (scientific, creative) activities, research methods and sources of information.

In order to disseminate the principles of academic integrity to the academic community, the University systematically conducts seminars, trainings, etc.
