For applicants of Department of Architecture of Building and Design

The department prepares students of higher education at three levels of higher education:

  • at the first (bachelor's) level of higher education in specialty 191 "Architecture and Urban Planning" under the educational and professional program of Bachelor's training "Architecture and Urban Planning" (term of study – 4 years);
  • at the second (master's) level of higher education in specialty 191 "Architecture and Urban Planning" under the educational and professional master's programs "Architecture of Buildings and Structures" and "Design of Architectural Environment" (term of study – 1.5 years);
  • at the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education in specialty 191 "Architecture and Urban Planning" under the educational and professional training program for the Doctor of Philosophy "Architecture and Urban Planning" (term of study – 4 years).

The educational process of training specialists according to the educational and professional program of the Bachelor of Architecture, specialty 191 "Architecture and Urban Planning" is built on the principle of gradually mastering theoretical knowledge and practical skills from simple to more complex. Theoretical knowledge is consolidated in the process of performing design tasks from the discipline "Architectural Design". The first year of study is devoted to mastering the graphic skills of architectural drawing and the basics of computer graphics. From the second year, the student begins to solve creative tasks. The student is invited to develop architectural projects on the following topics: "Individual house", "Cafe for 50 seats", "Multi-storey garage". All projects are carried out under the guidance of experienced teachers.

In the third year, the student solves creative tasks related to the following architectural topics: "Integrated public building", "Medium-sized city for 150,000 inhabitants", "Public centre of a medium-sized city".

In the fourth year, architectural projects are carried out on the topic: "Residential group", "Landscape organization of a residential group’s courtyard" and a complex architectural project (bachelor's graduation project) on an individual topic.

In the process of obtaining the second level of higher education – the master's degree – in the specialty 191 "Architecture and Urban Planning", from the discipline "Architectural design", projects are carried out on the topics: "Business centку", "Fore project on the topic of the master's thesis" and the master's thesis on an individual topic. In addition to the graphic part, the thesis contains a scientific textual part.
