International cooperation is one of the priority work areas of the Department of International Economic Relations and Tourism.
The department's international activities are aimed at: publishing articles and monographs together with foreign scientists, activating grant work, holding international conferences, training foreign students, improving the qualifications of scientific and pedagogical workers abroad, implementation of joint projects with foreign partners in the scientific and educational sphere, etc.
The department teaches foreign students. In recent years, students from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Nigeria, Lebanon, China, Cote D'Ivoire, Morocco, India, Egypt, Cameroon, Comoros Islands, Tanzania and other countries have studied by specialty “International Economic Relations”.
Some courses are taught in English: "European integration", "International economic relations", "International trade", "Foreign economic activity of enterprises", "Transnational corporations", "Leadership and effective communications", "International management", "International investment activities" and other.
All scientific and pedagogical workers of the department have publications in foreign professional journals that are part of the international scientific and metric databases, including SCOPUS and Web of Science, as well as joint scientific publications with foreign scientists. According to the results of international scientific and practical conferences held by the department, monographs are published in the European Union.
All scientific and pedagogical workers of the Department of International Economic Relations and Tourism during the last five years have undergone advanced training or internships in foreign universities, in particular: ISMA University, Latvia; Higher School of Pedagogy and Administration named after I Meshko, Poznań, Poland; Mykolas Romeris University, Vilnius, Lithuania; Malopolska School of Public Administration, Krakow, Poland, etc.
Every year lecturers and students of the Department of International Economic Relations and Tourism submit and win collective and individual applications for international grants.
The lecturers of the department took part in the discussion of the cooperation project with the German Society for International Cooperation “Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH”. The cooperation project is called "Integrated development of cities in Ukraine" and is financed by the Governments of Germany and Switzerland. During the meeting, the participants discussed the development of tourism, recreation and culture in Poltava.
The National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, in particular the Department of International Economic Relations and Tourism, actively cooperates with foreign universities.
The joint Ukrainian-British international scientific and practical conference "Technology, Engineering and Science - 2018" was held in London (Great Britain), which was organized by the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and the University of Greenwich. There was also a working meeting of the delegation of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” with representatives of the business school of the University of Greenwich.
On October, 7-8, 2021, the department held the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Tourism Industry Management: Methodology and Practice" on the basis of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, which was co-organized by the following foreign universities: Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), Białystok Polytechnic (Poland), Wrocław Polytechnic (Poland), University of Greenwich (Great Britain), ISMA University (Republic of Latvia), University of National and World Economy (Bulgaria), "North" University (Croatia).
The lecturers of the department organized the work of the section "International economic activity of Ukraine: current state and development prospects" as part of the International Scientific and Practical Internet Conference "Sustainable Development: Challenges and Threats in Martial Law", which took place at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” on June 9, 2022.
Work continues in the direction of expanding international academic mobility. Students of the Department of International Economic Relations and Tourism are active participants in foreign language, educational, industrial and cultural internship programs.
Lecturers of the department and students of the specialties "International Economic Relations" and "Tourism" took part in the international educational project - the International Online School "Business Processes and Marketing in the Field of Tourism: Modern Cases of Ukraine and EU Member States ", 07.10.2021 - 18.10.2021.
There is fruitful cooperation with foreign partner universities - the Białystok University of Technology (Poland) and the Higher Technical School (Brandenburg, Germany), where students majoring in "International Economic Relations" undergo training and internships.
The head of the Department of International Economic Relations and Tourism, Iryna Chychkalo-Kondratska, was on a working visit to the Bialystok University of Technology to discuss further areas of cooperation.
Yehor Ryabokon, a student majoring in "International Economic Relations", studied at the Białystok Polytechnic University under the ERASMUS+ grant program in 2021-2022. In 2019 Rostyslav Dykan, a master's student in International Economic Relations, studied at the Bialystok University of Technology under the "double degree" program. In July, 2016 students Hanna Goncharova and Rostyslav Dykan visited the summer economics school at Bialystok University of Technology.
On September 19-21, 2021 scientific and pedagogical workers, graduate students and students of the Department of International Economic Relations and Tourism held a joint meeting of the conference section with Polish colleagues as part of the 11th International Conference on ENGINEERING, PROJECT AND PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT, which took place on the basis of the Białystok University of Technology.
Lecturers and students of the Department of International Economic Relations and Tourism are active participants of the EU Study Days from the Representation of the European Union in Ukraine. During March-June 2021, assistant Iryna Novytska completed a three-month study at the Euroschool, developed and implemented her own mini-project. On April, 23, 2021, she took part in an event on the topic: "Project ideas, basics of project activities, team building" organized by the EU Study Days in Ukraine specialists.
It has become a good tradition to hold various events for Europe Days in Ukraine. One of them is the annual brain-ring on the topic "European Union: known and unknown", where students can demonstrate their knowledge of the organizational structure of the European Union, economy, politics, culture of the EU countries and their own vision of the European integration processes of Ukraine. Every year in May, as part of the celebrations on the occasion of Europe Day in Ukraine, teachers of the department and students take part in the artistic and cultural event "Student European Town".
Teachers from foreign countries are invited to hold classes in various disciplines for students majoring in "International Economic Relations" and "Tourism" in order to better learn the experience of economic relations regulating in different countries, learn foreign languages and be mobile during their studies. For example, Professor Jürgen Schwil taught a course of lectures on the discipline "International Innovation Management"; the skills of drawing up a business plan according to international standards were taught by professor Diana Deinert. In order for the students to acquire practical skills in conducting business negotiations, Professor Regina Shalinski of the Higher Technical School of Brandenburg (Germany) gave lectures on "Intercultural Management".
