The department conducts scientific research in the field of typology of buildings and structures, organization of a network of individual types of public buildings, restoration and conservation of architectural monuments, regional features of the national architecture of different countries, design of the architectural environment (including landscape architecture, interior of residential and public buildings, subject content of the architectural environment).
Based on research results, articles are published (including in publications indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science scientometric databases), monographs (both in Ukraine and in the EU countries), dissertations are defended for obtaining the scientific degree of Candidate of Architecture (Doctor of Philosophy).
Research results are implemented in real design and in the educational process.
