The department provides teaching of chemistry and physics at all technical faculties of full-time and part-time education. Lectures on chemistry and physics are delivered by teachers with academic degrees not lower than PhD. The curriculum covers all sections of modern chemistry and physics. Laboratory workshops are organized in such a way that each student has the opportunity to work individually on modern equipment to acquire practical skills. Studying the course of chemistry and physics, students get an idea of the modern scientifically based comprehensive picture of the world around them.
The department successfully operates a permanent student scientific club: Application of Basic Research Methods to Applied Phenomena. The head of the group is Master of Physics (MPhys), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Associate Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Physics Dmytro Usenko. Members of the group are active participants in international, national, and university conferences.
The Department of Chemistry and Physics is constantly improving, enriching its scientific and pedagogical potential, gaining new teaching experience that involves the use of innovations and modern information and computer technologies in education.
The department is located in classroom 104aP, teaching laboratories (101P, 102P, 106P), and a multimedia teaching laboratory (108P).
