15 champion students are awarded honours for the Day of Physical Culture and Sport

On September 10, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” held solemnnesses on the occasion of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine.

15 champion students are awarded honours for the Day of Physical Culture and Sport

Students-athletes who won all-Ukrainian and international competitions, lecturers and coaches were greeted by the rector of the university, sports leaders of Poltava region, representatives of the student and scientific and pedagogical community of the university.

Young cheerleaders, members of the club “Art life” together with the artist, violinist, member of the band “Rock symphony” Volodymyr Ishchenko opened the official solemnnesses for the Day of Physical Culture and Sports.

15 champion students who represented Poltava region at the national and international levels were awarded the Citations of the rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, head of the All-Ukrainian public organization “Student Sports Union of Ukraine”, public association “Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko for their high sports achievements, personal contribution to the development of physical culture and sports of the University and on the occasion of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine:

Oleksii Virchenko, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in swimming, silver medalist of the 2020 Summer Paralympic Games in Tokyo, two-time bronze medalist of the World Championships and the European Championships;

Denys Ostapchenko, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in swimming, two-time European champion, three-time winner of the World Championships, champion, silver and bronze medalist of the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo;

Dariia Holovko, candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine in powerlifting, European and world champion, multiple champion and winner of Ukrainian powerlifting championships among juniors;

Yaroslav Sushko, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in kettlebell lifting, multiple world and European champion in kettlebell lifting;

Yevhen Ostapchuk, Master of Sports of Ukraine in kettlebell lifting, European champion and bronze medalist of the World Kettlebell Lifting Championship, multiple champion and winner of Ukrainian kettlebell lifting championships;

Ihor Havryshko, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine in kettlebell lifting, European champion in kettlebell lifting in 2020 among adults, multiple champion of Ukraine;

Oleksandr Svyrydenko, Master of Sports of Ukraine in kettlebell lifting, multiple champion and winner of the World Championships and European Cups;

Oleksandr Tsybulko, candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine in kettlebell lifting, multiple champion and prize-winner of the World Championships and European Cups;

Vitalii Bilous, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in kettlebell lifting, multiple world and European champion in kettlebell lifting;

Yelyzaveta Myrna, candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine in kettlebell lifting, multiple champion and winner of the World Championships and European Cups;

Oleh Pryimachov, Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine in Thai boxing Muay Thai, winner of the 2017 World Games, multiple world and European champion, staff athlete of the national team of Ukraine in Thai boxing;

Nikita Solovei, candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine in military sports multiathlon, world champion and Ukraine in military-sports multiathlon;

Yuliia Saienko, candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine in cheerleading, champion of Ukraine in the nomination “hip-hop team”;

Yan Kupriianov, Master of Sports of Ukraine in kayaking and canoeing, world and Ukrainian champion;

Roman Didur, candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine in kayaking and canoeing, world and Ukrainian champion.

Besides honorary decorations, athletes also received memorable gifts from the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

For high professionalism, active public position, significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports and on the occasion of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine lecturers of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports were awarded with Citations of the rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”:

  • Oksana Hordiienko, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine in powerlifting;
  • Tetiana Synytsia, Head of the Department of Physical Education, Master of Sports of Ukraine in cheerleading, champion of Ukraine in the nomination “hip-hop team”;
  • Andrii Chermenskyi, lecturer of the Department of Physical Education, Master of Sports of Ukraine in table tennis;
  • Andrian Ostapov, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education, candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine in volleyball;
  • Oleksii Vorobiov, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education, coach of the university football team.

According to the head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava City Council Ihor Kyslov, it is thanks to the high achievements of talented youth, the country’s sports elite, that Poltava can confidently compete for the title of “Sports Capital”: “It is impossible to imagine modern youth sports without people who care for its development in higher education institutions of the city and region. Thanks to such tireless enthusiasts as you, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych, your team lives the life of great sports, cares about athletes and moves them forward! On behalf of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, the Poltava City Council deputies and the city’s athletes, let me congratulate you on your professional holiday, and to wish you not to stop there, work on yourself and win again and again in a duel with experienced rivals!” On the occasion of the Day of Physical Culture and Sports of Ukraine, the staff of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports was awarded the Citation of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava City Council for high professionalism in training athletes of Poltava region and devotion to Poltava city territorial community. From the hands of the guest the award was received by Acting Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko.

Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava City Council presented the rector of the University, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko a personal Citation for his high professionalism, significant personal contribution to the development of youth and student sports in the Poltava region. The gift – a soccer ball with the autographs of the players of the football club “Vorskla” will take its honorable place in the Sports Hall of Fame of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. In February, the All-Ukrainian public organization “Student Sports Union of Ukraine” awarded the rector of Poltava Polytechnic for the development of student sports in the Poltava region.

“The university has become a kind of home for kettlebell lifters in the region, experienced athletes study and train here, and we have already held the first Championship of Ukraine in kettlebell lifting. Thanks to joint efforts, the training hall has been renovated, and disciples of the Honored Coach of Ukraine Pavlo Mandia continue to carry the sporting triumph and the greatness of kettlebell lifting. I would like to thank university management for their all-round support and assistance, helping in resolving a variety of issues! I wish everyone good health, inspiration and new sports achievements!” – gave his regards the head of a separate structural subdivision in the Poltava region “Union of Kettlebell Lifters of Ukraine” Mykola Tkachenko. He presented a gift for athletes and university students – a back exercise machine (roman chair), which was installed in the university kettlebell lifting hall.

On this very day, a meeting was held with the champion graduates and students of the Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020. The university awarded the graduates the titles of Honorary Masters, and the students were presented with citations and gifts.
