On the occasion of International Youth Day, a friendly meeting of the leaders of the youth councils of the Poltava region communities and representatives of the Trade Union Committee of Students and Postgraduates as well as the Student Parliament of the Poltava Polytechnic took place on the basis of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic".
The meeting of the youth community started with a welcome coffee in the StudHab of the Poltava Polytechnic – a modern and innovative space for Poltava students.
The Vice-President of the Student Parliament of the Poltava Polytechnic Kseniia Kolomiiets and the Head of the Trade Union Committee of Students and Postgraduates Oleksandr Drobotia spoke about youth activity at the university and the work of the university's Volunteer Headquarters.
Communication continued during the campus tour. The guests were introduced to the more than 200-year history of the classical university, which is behind the state-of-the-art material and technical base, updated classrooms and laboratories.
The youth leaders also visited a unique location, the first center in Ukraine for the growth of leaders on the basis of a higher education institution – the Center for Education and Care of Preschool Children Mr. Leader.
"On behalf of the Student Parliament, I thank the distinguished guests for their time. I hope that this is not our last meeting and that we will be able to implement a number of joint projects with you. I think we have certain points that we can discuss and come to their implementation," – noted the Vice-President of the Student Parliament of the Poltava Polytechnic Kseniia Kolomiiets.
A discussion on the importance of youth leadership took place in the meeting hall of the Academic Council. The participants of the informal event were also the head of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Poltava RMA Maryna Trokhymenko and the Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of the Poltava Region, rector of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic", Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
"Youth is a wonderful time when there are many plans and many opportunities. It is important that they can be implemented on the native land – in Poltava, Poltava region and Ukraine. It is extremely important for today's youth to be successful leaders. There is a simple rule: "If you want to be successful, be successful."
Do not limit yourself in your desires and dreams, as Oleksandr Sharhei, known as Yurii Kondratiuk – an outstanding inventor, whose name our university bears, did in his time. All his life this man dreamed of the stars, and his dreams came true.
The university is exactly the place that should be the center of the formation of young leaders!
Young people are the future of our country, and while the Armed Forces of Ukraine are defending our country, we must, without feeling sorry for ourselves, do everything to acquire quality knowledge, because educated specialists will be useful in post-war Ukraine.
Poltava Polytechnic is always open for the future! Ukrainian youth are patriotic, proactive and active, and they are our wonderful future!" – said Rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
The staff of the Poltava Polytechnic received an award on the occasion of Youth Day – the Citation from the Department of Youth and Sports of the Poltava RMA for supporting youth initiatives, creating conditions for the implementation of youth ideas and projects, and long-term cooperation.
In turn, the head of the Trade Union of Students and Postgraduates of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" Oleksandr Drobotia thanked the head of the Administration Maryna Trokhymenko for supporting all youth initiatives and the development of student self-government.
The Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of the Poltava Region, the Rector of the Poltava Polytechnic, together with the head of the specialized department of the RMA, noted the best representatives of the student body and youth leaders of the Poltava region.
Recently, the rector of the Poltava Polytechnic congratulated the first-year students enrolled on the state budget.
