A philology scientist became a scholarship recipient of the Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalization and conducted a series of classes at a leading European partner university

Head of the Department of Germanic Philology and Translation of Poltava Polytechnic, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Oksana Vorobyova received an academic scholarship for teaching from the Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalization (OeAD). As part of the scholarship program, the scientist held lectures on cultural linguistics and practical English classes at a leading Austrian university.

As part of the participation of scientific and pedagogical workers and students of the National University «Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic» in the Central European Exchange Program for University Studies (CEEPUS), the head of the department of Germanic philology and translation, candidate of philological sciences, Associate Professor Oksana Vorobyova received an academic scholarship for teaching from the Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalization (OeAD).

According to this scholarship program, in the period from May 20 to 25, 2024, the Poltava Polytechnic scientist held lectures on cultural linguistics and practical English classes at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences (UAS Burgenland, Eisenstadt, Austria).

During the lectures, the teacher introduced the students of the leading Austrian partner university to the Ukrainian worldview and national culture, explained how the mentality of the nation affects its language, presented the broad scientific and educational traditions and innovative abilities of the multidisciplinary classical university, National University «Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic».

The students of the preparatory department of the University of Burgenland became the target audience during the educational sessions, because they study English to pass the certification exam and to be accepted to Austrian higher education institutions.

Representing Austria and other countries of Europe and Asia, the young people enthusiastically listened to the story of scientist Oksana Vorobyova about Ukraine and our university and gladly shared interesting facts about the history and culture of their own countries. During the practical classes, the students had a unique opportunity to improve their language skills, as the teacher of the Ukrainian multidisciplinary classical university applied modern approaches to teaching, in particular, the communicative method of teaching English grammar.

"Informatively and emotionally saturated week in Austria greatly enriched me professionally and worldviewwise. I express my sincere gratitude for the comprehensive support and assistance of the university administration and personally to the cancellor, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, as well as the coordinator of international cooperation of Poltava Polytechnic, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Anna Pavelieva, thanks to whose conscientious professional activity, our university successfully implements various academic mobility programs for scientists and student youth. And, of course, I want to express my immense gratitude to our Austrian partners - Birgit Rivalta, head of the international office of UAS Burgenland, international mobility coordinators Kathrin Hofer and Crista Koppensteiner, as well as Martin Yandl , my academic supervisor at UAS Burgenland, who put all of the effort to make my stay in Austria comfortable, useful and unforgettable," - shared her impressions of the scholarship program participant Oksana Vorobyova.

It should be recalled that, two scientists of the National University «Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic», Anna Pavelieva and Nataliia Bondar, participated in the Erasmus+ academic mobility program on the basis of the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences (Eisenstadt, Austria), attending the International Staff Week - 2024.

Recently, scientists from the faculty of Philology, Psychology and Pedagogy participated in an internship at the Transylvanian University of Brasov, future professionals learned management tools for various social fields within the framework of the "Study Tours to Poland" grant program, future architects shared their impressions of participating in the ICAMES 2024 conference in Istanbul, future professionals acquire educational skills and share their impressions of studying at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences.

In the first (winter) semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, 2 students of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economy, Management and Law of Poltava Polytechnic studied at the University of Applied Sciences of Burgenland - Nadiia Kubrak and Anastasiia Arkhipova. Nadiia Kubrak has extended her mobility program for the spring semester of 2024 and, together with Anzhelika Didechkina and Dana Sholokh, is currently studying on the Erasmus+ credit academic mobility program at the Burgenland University of Applied Sciences.

It should be noted that Poltava Polytechnic students have the opportunity to study abroad under Erasmus+ credit academic mobility grant programs for a semester or an entire academic year at leading universities in Austria, Greenland, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Finland, the Czech Republic.
