A university graduate and a student become gold medallists of the Ukrainian Team Athletics Championship among Adults and Youth

A graduate of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic Olha Korsun became a gold medallist of the Ukrainian Team Athletics Championship among Adults and Youth, having become the best in the triple jump and fulfilled the standard of a Master of Sports of International Class of Ukraine. And FPCS student Davyd Kulakovskyi took first place in the 200-metre dash.

A university graduate and a student become gold medallists of the Ukrainian Team Athletics Championship among Adults and Youth

On 18-19 May 2024, the Ukrainian Team Athletics Championship among Adults and Youth and the National All-Around Athletics Championship took place at the “Avanhard” Stadium in Lutsk. About five hundred of the country’s best athletes competed for the championship and the right to take part in the European Athletics Championships and the Association of Balkan Federations Championships.

At the opening of the competition, the participants were greeted by the Chairman of Volyn Regional Council, Head of the regional branch of the NOCU Hryhorii Nedopad and the Head of the Athletics Federation of Ukraine Olha Saladukha, who wished the athletes vital energy, optimism, will to win and new achievements on the sporting Olympus of our country.

According to the results of the Ukrainian Team Athletics Championship among Adults and Youth, a graduate of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Olha Korsun became a gold medallist, taking the first place in the triple jump and fulfilling the standard of a master of sports of international class. The athlete’s result was 14.20 metres. The winner was prepared for the competition by Coach Yurii Shcherbak.

A student of group 302-FS of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic Davyd Kulakovskyi took the first place in the 200 metres race. The athlete of Poltava Polytechnic covered the distance in 21.43 seconds, thus breaking his personal record at this distance. The athlete was prepared for the competition by his coaches Viacheslav Nyshchemenko and Olena Shypova.

Congratulations to the athletes and their coaches on their enchanting victory at the prestigious competition! We are proud of them and wish them sports enthusiasm, inspiration and new significant achievements in conquering sports peaks!

Recently, DTEK Oil&Gas employees held a comprehensive sports competition at the Polytechnic.

Earlier, students of the Polytechnic became silver and bronze medallists of the European Arm Wrestling Championship, cheerleaders of the Polytechnic won awards of the Ukrainian Championship among schoolchildren and students, and the Open Workout Tournament was held at the Polytechnic.
