Address by the Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet

"The eighth day of the ruthless war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine!

Every day the aggressor inflicts devastating and brutal blows on our country. It destroys kindergartens and schools, colleges and universities, roads, factories, and most importantly – destroys our people.

Every day, the Russian enemy openly and repeatedly inflicts missile, bombs, and artillery strikes on peaceful cities and civilian targets.

As of today, more than 160 educational institutions have been completely or partially destroyed.

Hundreds of innocent people died at the hands of the enemy during the war! These are irreparable losses, the blood of which will always be on the hands of the aggressor.

I want to address fellow educators! In the most difficult time for the country, you have shown incredible patriotism, unity and strength.

In each region, places for displaced persons have been organized in educational institutions, fighters are provided with food, strong humanitarian headquarters have been set up in some regions, and the necessary assistance is provided. You are the pride of the Ukrainian people.

Ukrainian children and teachers are now forced to hide in shelters from the hourly rocket attacks and are experiencing terrible psychological trauma. That is why, together with partners and higher education institutions, a series of information materials prepared by Svitlana Roiz for psychological support of children was prepared, as well as daily online meetings were organized at https://facebook.com/eduhub.in.ua/ with certified psychologists of the Association of Innovative and Digital Education.

The Telegram channel "Support the child" operates to support children in difficult times with easy exercises that can be performed while staying in shelter or at home.

Viber-community "School_info" under martial law launched an educational initiative. They publish tasks for schoolchildren of 1-4 forms, since forced "holidays" should not interfere with the development and acquisition of education.

Distance school "Optima" has opened free access to the educational platform for all children who have the Internet. The mathematical online platform CIOS has opened free access for teachers and all those receiving education until March 31.

Telegram channel "Pavlusha and Java" publishes audio tales for families with children who are in bomb shelters.

There is a Facebook page of the Coordination Center for Accommodation of Victims of Russian Aggression in Ukraine.

The voice of our state is our children who grew up to be true patriots of Ukraine during the week of the war. We distribute all videos we are receiving from children so that the whole world can hear us.

Low bow and respect to the Armed Forces and territory defense forces!

Dear Ukrainians! We are a strong nation! Together we can do everything!" – said the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet in his Telegram channel.
