“Black Sea Science 2024”: Polytechnic students are awarded for the high level of scientific research presented at the international competition

Within the first stage of the International Student Research Competition “Black Sea Science”, the jury members highly appreciated the level of the presented research papers by Yana Chornous, a student majoring in Marketing, and Kostiantyn Omelianenko, a master’s student majoring in Enterprise, Trade and Exchange Activity. Polytechnic students presented research on innovative solutions for waste management and ABC analysis as a way to improve the efficiency of an enterprise’s business activities.

“Black Sea Science 2024”: Polytechnic students are awarded for the high level of scientific research presented at the international competition

The “Black Sea Science 2024” International Student Research Competition was held at Odesa National Technological University under the auspices of the Black Sea Universities Network and ISEKI-Food Association.

The competition jury consisted of 144 scientists, including 92 from 23 foreign countries – Angola, Benin, USA, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, UK, Greece, China, Turkey, Oman, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, Estonia, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Georgia, Romania, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and Moldova.

According to the results of the first stage of the remote International Student Research Paper Competition “Black Sea Science 2024” in Economics and Management, the members of the highly qualified jury gave high marks to the research work of the first-year (bachelor’s) student of speciality 075 Marketing Yana Chornous and the second-year (master’s) student of speciality 076 Enterprise, Trade and Exchange Activity Kostiantyn Omelianenko.

The research of master’s student of Poltava Polytechnic Kostiantyn Omelianenko “INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS OF THE WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: UKRAINE AND THE EU” was dedicated to innovative solutions in the field of safe waste collection and recycling. The research was carried out at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” within the educational module of Jean Monnet Erasmus+ Project “Reforming the Environmental, Energy, Economic and Financial Spheres of Ukraine in the Context of European Integration”.

The research paper “TOOLS OF ABC ANALYSIS TO INCREASE THE EFFICIENCY OF ENTERPRISE BUSINESS ACTIVITY” by Yana Chornous, first-year (bachelor’s) degree student majoring in 075 Marketing, is devoted to the search for ABC analysis tools to increase the efficiency of business activities (based on the materials of YUGFOOD LLC).

The papers were completed and presented at a high level exclusively in English. The students were prepared for the International Student Research Paper Competition “Black Sea Science 2024” by their supervisor – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics, Business and Marketing of Poltava Polytechnic Kseniia Chychulina.

The members of the highly qualified jury praised the presented research papers, noting their relevance, scientific novelty and practice-oriented nature.

Based on the results of the intellectual competition, students of Poltava Polytechnic were awarded with personalised certificates for participating in the prestigious international scientific competition.

It is worth noting that 358 papers from Ukrainian and foreign higher education institutions – universities of Oman, Lithuania, Germany, Serbia, Poland, Romania, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Moldova and Uzbekistan – were accepted for the first stage of the competition and considered by a highly qualified jury.

At the first stage of the competition, the jury reviewed the research papers and discussed them online at meetings. Finalists were selected in each area (25% of the reviewed papers according to the rating) and invited to participate in the second stage of the competition.

Earlier, a Polytechnic student won a bronze medal at the “Black Sea Science” international scientific competition, having studied a “smart” microclimate control system.
