Every year, on 21 February, the International Mother Language Day is celebrated all over the world, established by the UNESCO General Conference in 1999, to encourage governments and people of different countries to protect and develop the language of every nation that exists on the planet.
In our country, the International Mother Language Day is of particular importance, as language, as a powerful genetic code of an indestructible nation, remains an integral part of the development of national history and identity.
The Ukrainian language is one of the most important symbols of our statehood, bringing the voice of freedom and dignity of every Ukrainian to the civilised European world.
We are proud of our linguistic unity and preserve and support our mother tongue, which is the main criterion for the self-sufficiency of the nation and each of its citizens.
