Delegation of Poltava Polytechnic attends the inauguration of the academic year at Białystok University of Technology

Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of Poltava Polytechnic Olena Stepova and Head of the Department of General Linguistics and Foreign Languages Alla Bolotnikova took part in the inaugural celebrations at Białystok University of Technology. During the visit, they agreed with the partners on new joint educational initiatives and the next stages of training specialists in double degree programmes.

On October 3, 2024, at the invitation of Rector, Professor Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, a delegation from Poltava Polytechnic composed of Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Olena Stepova and Head of the Department of General Linguistics and Foreign Languages, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Alla Bolotnikova took part in the inauguration of the new academic year 2024/2025 at Białystok University of Technology. The visit was a continuation of the long-term partnership between the universities, initiated by Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Honorary Professor of Białystok University of Technology Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

During the meeting with the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of Bialystok University of Technology, Professor Dorota Anna Krawczyk, they discussed the results of joint projects and new stages of the double degree programme in the speciality 192 Civil and Environmental Engineering. This programme will provide students of Poltava Polytechnic with the opportunity to gain European experience and expand their prospects in the international labour market.

During the meeting with Dean of Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Protection Michal Boltryk and Dean of Faculty of Management Joanna Edis, the parties discussed specific ways of implementing the partnership agreement.

One of the key agreements was the organisation of a series of workshops in “Management” as well as “Industrial and Civil Engineering” in November, 2024, and the participation of students of Poltava Polytechnic in the Summer School in “Civil Engineering” at Białystok University of Technology. These workshops will be aimed at practical training of students, and the lectures will be given by the professors of both universities.

The Polish partner university will also join the co-organisation of the international scientific and practical conference “Youth Science: Innovations and Global Challenges”, which will be held in November, 2024, on the occasion of the World Science Day for Peace and Development.

“We are delighted to be at our partner university, which has been helping the staff of Poltava Polytechnic and supporting Ukraine since the first days of the war. National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” has a long history of international cooperation, and the cooperation with Białystok University of Technology is one of the brightest examples. This cooperation is aimed at strengthening educational and scientific ties between two institutions. It includes joint research and projects and student and faculty exchange programmes. Thanks to these initiatives, students and teachers of Poltava Polytechnic have the opportunity to participate in international exchange programmes to improve their knowledge and skills in the globalised world. International cooperation expands the access to advanced technologies and resources, which allows the university to meet the modern challenges of the global educational system.

The cooperation agreement between National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and Białystok University of Technology envisages several important aspects. In particular, it opens the possibility for university students to take part in the Summer School in Civil Engineering. This is a great opportunity for students to gain new knowledge, practical experience and intercultural communication in an international educational environment.

In addition, the Polish partner university will co-organise the international scientific and practical conference “Youth Science: Innovations and Global Challenges”. This event, dedicated to the World Science Day for Peace and Development, will be a key event for students, postgraduates and young scientists working in the field of innovation and research. The conference will serve as a platform for the exchange of scientific achievements and ideas between young scientists from different countries.

It should be recalled that Honorary Professor of Białystok University of Technology Volodymyr Onyshchenko congratulated his colleagues on the beginning of the new academic year, students of Poltava Polytechnic will be able to study under Erasmus+ and double degree programmes at the Polish University of Science and Technology (AGH), and Poltava Polytechnic will cooperate with the leading university in Poland, Warsaw University of Technology.

Recently, the Vice-Rector of Poltava Polytechnic presented the achievements of the university at the European Conference of Science Centres and Museums of Science.

Earlier, a delegation of the university visited a mining festival and congratulated the partner university in Krakow on its centenary.
