From 5 to 11 August 2024, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, hosted the IMMAF Youth World Championships.
The legendary Mubadala Arena y Zayed Sports City brought together 700 athletes from 47 countries. The national team of Ukraine was represented by 83 athletes who demonstrated excellent physical fitness, strong sports spirit and endurance.
A student of academic group 102-FS of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Volodymyr Shcherban became a bronze medallist of the IMMAF Youth World Championships, winning the honourable award in the weight category of up to 120.2 kg among the U18 athletes.
For the fourth year in a row, the Ukrainian national mixed martial arts team became the best team in the world, taking first place in the team competition. Ukrainian athletes have won 33 medals, including 8 gold, 10 silver and 15 bronze medals.

Recently, the team of Poltava Polytechnic won the Ukrainian Beach Soccer Cup among women’s teams of higher education institutions, Master’s student Kateryna Petrenko became the world champion in Dragon Boat Rowing, and FPCS student Ruslana Symonenko became the world champion in armwrestling.
