Our student Maksym Ovcharenko performs at the XXIV Summer Deaflympics in Brazil as part of the Ukrainian men's national team in table tennis, along with several other Poltava athletes – Hennadii Zakladnyi and Anton Valiiev.
The team won a gold medal in the team standings, defeating the team from Taiwan, and on May 9, Maksym Ovcharenko won the gold in the mixed doubles with Roksolana Budnyk from Ternopil. In the same discipline, Hennadii Zakladnyi from Poltava and Yuliia Khodko from Kyiv won the bronze.
