First-year students of FPCS celebrate the student holiday with the intellectual game “Brain-Ring”

Scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” conducted a thematic “Brain-Ring” for first-year students of the specialty 017 “Physical Culture and Sports”, who demonstrated excellent knowledge of the history basics of physical culture and sports development.

On the occasion of International Students’ Day, the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” held the thematic game “Brain-Ring”. Active participants of the intellectual tournament were first-year students of the specialty 017 “Physical Culture and Sports” of the Poltava Polytechnic, who demonstrated ingenuity, logical thinking skills and excellent knowledge of the history basics of the physical culture and sports development. A highly professional jury headed by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Lina Rybalko evaluated the activity and correctness of the participants’ answers.

The author and creative initiator of the game “Brain-Ring” was the Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Poltava Polytechnic Larysa Onishchuk. According to the scientist, such a format of meaningful intellectual activity, the use of gaming technologies in the educational process and leisure motivates student youth to more actively recall what they learned in university classrooms as well as effectively use the acquired practical skills in everyday life.

“The idea to celebrate one of the biggest student holidays in a friendly atmosphere imbued with the spirit of rivalry and enthusiasm for intellectual victories did not arise by chance. After all, Poltava Polytechnic youth constantly strives to improve, gain new practical experience and have a meaningful, useful recreation. This format is extremely favored by first-year students, they readily join the game and are charged for a positive result! Our words of sincere gratitude are addressed to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the opportunity to communicate, compete and win!” – commented Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Larysa Onishchuk.

The “Gladiators” team (students of group 102-FS) won in a fierce intellectual struggle. The “Champions” team (students of the 101-FS group) took second place, and the “Spies” team, which included students of the 102-FS group, won the third place. The winners of the intellectual tournament received certificates and incentive prizes.

At the end of the game, the head of the jury – Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko noted the remarkable cohesion of the freshmen, their activity and comprehensive knowledge of the physical culture and sports history. “Thank you very much for your conscientiousness and perseverance in acquiring knowledge, comprehensive support of our ideas, willingness to popularize sports among modern youth! We are glad that the sports student family of the Poltava Polytechnic is constantly replenished not only with professional athletes, but also with real intellectuals!” – emphasized the head of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports.

Earlier, Poltava Polytechnic athletes became the prize-winners of the Open Cup of the Poltava region in classical powerlifting, and the students of the FPCS became volunteers and participants of the “Autumn RUN – 2022” marathon.
