During a briefing at the Ukrainian Media Centre, Minister of Education and Science Serhii Shkarlet said that the admission of foreign students to Ukrainian higher education institutions will not be cancelled this year, despite the full-scale russian aggression.

“Today we are planning to hold an online admission campaign. There are some issues, but we will resolve them so that Ukrainian education is in demand all over the world, regardless of the security situation,” – noted Serhii Shkarlet.

According to the Minister, as of 1 January 2022, almost 80,000 foreigners were studying in Ukraine before the full-scale russian invasion. Serhii Shkarlet noted that over the past two years, the number of foreign students in Ukraine has increased significantly, which demonstrates confidence in the national education system.

He also informed about the format of the national multi-subject test, which will consist of tasks in the Ukrainian language, mathematics, and history of Ukraine.

“We will try to organise three sessions to reach the maximum number of future students. In total, children will be able to register for 28 attempts, i.e. twice a day,” – said Serhii Shkarlet.

In addition, an online simulation test of the national multi-subject test will be held to allow participants to assess their level of knowledge.

It should be recalled that applicants will be able to take the NMT in Ukraine and abroad, provided they are physically present.
