FPCS first-year student becomes European champion in mixed martial arts MMA

A student of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic Volodymyr Shcherban won the title of European champion in MMA mixed martial arts in the Youth A age category, weight category up to 120.2 kg.

The European MMA Championship 2025 is taking place in the Serbian capital Belgrade from 14 to 23 February 2025. The competition involves 888 athletes from 38 European countries.

The first-year student of group 102-FS of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Volodymyr Shcherban is successfully competing in the Ukrainian national team.

The athlete of Poltava Polytechnic won the title of European champion in mixed martial arts MMA in the Youth A age category, weight category up to 120.2 kg. It should be noted that Volodymyr became the first ever European MMA champion in the Poltava region.

Congratulations to athlete Volodymyr Shcherban on his brilliant victory at the European MMA Championships!

Many thanks and congratulations to the coach Ihor Onoprienko, the head of the separate subdivision of the Combat Sambo Federation in the Poltava region, for training a high-class athlete who successfully represents Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic on the international arena.

Earlier, the first-year student of FPCS became the champion of the Open Championship of the Poltava Region in swimming among juniors.
