On the occasion of the Lawyer’s Day at the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” an interesting scientific and educational event took place. The head of the Poltava Region Prosecutor’s Office, Doctor of Law, Professor Anton Stolitnii visited the university to share his own experience and deliberate on the possibilities of introducing information technologies in public administration and jurisprudence. The speaker responded to the invitation of the rector of the university, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko and held a lecture “Information Technology in Public Administration” for students of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law.
According to the rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, motivational meetings, useful hands-on cases from professionals and practical orientation of scientific and educational events organized by the university with the participation of managers, practitioners, and experienced managers are the best to demonstrate young people and university graduates their limitless opportunities in the modern labor market.
“The lecture provided an interdisciplinary combination of different scientific fields. Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law learned about the concept of executive bodies’ development on a fractal basis and the main directions of information technology implementation in the judiciary field, work of police, prosecutor’s office, and specialists in law.
Discovering the world of legal science, public governance and administration, gaining the experience from such leaders and scientists as Anton Stolitnii, each of our university students will have before their eyes a convincing example that any field of science or professional activity is subject to youth, if they love the chosen profession and stand guard over the interests of the state.
Sincere thanks to respected Anton Volodymyrovych! It is extremely gratifying that such high-level leaders meet with young people and are willing to respond to our initiatives. The first lecture of our partner showed the effectiveness of the synergy of IT technologies, public administration and such a responsible science as jurisprudence. We hope to continue our fruitful cooperation, as the Polytechnic has a number of successful cases of effective cooperation with local governments, the National Police of Ukraine, the Patrol Police Department, the Cyberpolice Department of Ukraine, and the Poltava Research Forensic Center in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Therefore, communication with the heads of various government agencies, organizations, services has become our trademark, the key to the success of our graduates,” – said the rector of Poltava Polytechnic Volodymyr Onyshchenko and invited students to join the discussion on current issues of public information, public administration and jurisprudence in particular.
The topic of the lecture was chosen not by chance, since considering the impossibility of unification of all regulations, depending on the level of technical support and deadlines for submission of certain documents to state registers through the electronic control system leads to the conclusion that it is inexpedient to reduce the control system only to electronic form. And thus, paper form of control should be retained as a secondary.
“There are still many gaps in the system, which we are still closing, since any technologies are created by people who can make mistakes. Automation of our system is in the process of improvement, and in my own professional practice there were curious cases when I had to drive hundreds of kilometers, because the local prosecutor's office simply did not have the Internet. Therefore, I urge each of you to find the pros and cons of your profession, because the programs written by IT specialists, knowledge accumulated by lawyers and skills acquired by future managers will help us perform quality work,” – noted the head of the Poltava Region Prosecutor’s Office Anton Stolitniy.
Students actively asked questions and were interested in hands-on cases from professional activity. The active discussion was also joined by representatives of the students’ self-government of the university – the Head of the Trade Union Committee of Students and Graduates of Poltava Polytechnic Oleksandr Drobotia, acting President of the Students’ Parliament Oleksandr Lytvynenko.
“In my opinion, our students are extremely lucky to study at the university, where all conditions are created for fruitful professional communication, where business representatives, university partners, heads of the highest levels of state and executive authorities talk to youth on an equal footing. After all, the cloudless future of our young state will depend on the intellectual, emotional and sports growth of young Ukrainians. Thank you for a fruitful meeting, since students and lecturers will certainly be able to use the shared cases in practice and in their own professional activities,” – summed up the rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.
At the end of the lecture, the participants talked in a “question – answer” format.
Previously, future marketing specialists discussed strategies for creating and promoting brands, and future managers got acquainted with the work of the Interregional Department of National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service (NADS) in Poltava and Kirovohrad regions.
