Head of the Ukrainian Geological Survey awards the Rector of the Polytechnic for a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists and fruitful cooperation

One of the top speakers of the IX International Industry Forum – Head of the State Geologic and Subsoil Survey of Ukraine Roman Opimakh spoke about the activities of the Ukrainian Geological Survey during the war, the importance of subsoil use industries for the economy of Ukraine, and personnel policy. The rector of the Poltava Polytechnic, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko, was awarded an Honorary Diploma for his significant contribution to the training.

During a speech at the IX International Industry Forum “Energy Security – the main priority for the development of the oil and gas industry of Ukraine”, which was held on the basis of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, the Head of the State Geologic and Subsoil Survey of Ukraine Roman Opimakh spoke about the prospects in subsoil use, existing challenges, activities of the Survey in accordance with the norms of the updated Code of Ukraine on Subsoil, the main results of 2022 as well as outlined new tasks and priorities for the current year.

Despite the war year, the staff of the Ukrainian Geological Survey managed to ensure stable work, respond to the needs of the economy, prepare new proposals for special permits and regularly hold auctions, which provides income to the state budget and the opportunity for business to work. The Survey carries out measures to prepare the implementation of the norms introduced by the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Improvement of Legislation in the Field of Subsoil Use” adopted last December, and works on the development of secondary legislation.

“Our team needs young qualified personnel, in recent years more than 20 university graduates have completed internships, the best of them are successfully employed. We highly value cooperation with domestic scientific institutions, educational institutions, in which the joint efforts with Poltava Polytechnic occupy a prominent place,” – commented the head of the Ukrainian Geological Survey Roman Opimakh.

For his significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists and fruitful cooperation with the State Geologic and Subsoil Survey of Ukraine, Roman Opimakh awarded the rector of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko with an Honorary Diploma.

It should be recalled that the central body of the executive power, which implements the state policy in the field of geological study and rational use of the subsoil – the State Geologic and Subsoil Survey of Ukraine – signed an agreement on cooperation with the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

Within the framework of the cooperation, the head of the Ukrainian Geological Survey gave a lecture to students and teachers of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and the Poltava College of Oil and Gas, shared practical cases of the service’s innovative activities and talked about the prospects for internships, probations and successful employment of Poltava Polytechnic graduates.
