How To Counteract In Informational Wars: Scientists and Military Prepare Joint Scientific Publication

The co-authors of the monograph “Informational War: Socio-Ontologic and Military Aspects” received certificate of copyright registration. The scientists analyzed the main informational threats and modeled a new protection system. Their suggestions are studied at the specialized Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

How To Counteract In Informational Wars: Scientists and Military Prepare Joint Scientific Publication

Monograph “Informational War: Socio-Ontologic and Military Aspects” is a collective result of interdepartmental cooperation of informational war scientists of higher education institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of Air Force) and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”), as well as structural subdivisions of the General Staff of Armed Forces of Ukraine. It models a new system of cyber-protection and performance of informational and psychological operations, taking into account the experience of the Anti-terrorist Operation and the Joint Forces Operation.

The co-authors team of the research included the scientists of Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of Air Force, Doctor of History, Professor of the Department of Philosophy Ruslan Hula, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of the Department of Philosophy Oleksandr Dzioban’, PhD in History, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy Olena Pavlichenko, and of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Doctor of History, Associate Professor, the Head of the Department of Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation Iryna Perederii, and Colonel, the Head of the Department of Informational and Propagandist Supply of the Headquarters of Moral and Psychological Support of Armed Forces of Ukraine Hryhorii Fil’.

   

The scientific book was published in 2020 by Kyiv publishing house “Karavela”. A few months after, the certificate of copyright registration was received. Patents and copyright certificates for innovations or scientific articles are an important indicator of the productive scientific and research activity of academic staff. Over the last academic year the teachers of the Department of Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation received seven certificates of this kind.

“This is the first example of practical efforts cooperating in modeling the new system of cyber-protection by civil and military scientists and specialists of informational and psychological operations taking into account the experience of the Anti-terrorist Operation and the Joint Forces Operation. This publication is special not only because of the theoretic basics of informational wars, including the historical perspective, but also because of the analysis of the problems of informational counteraction supply in the modern conditions of the development of Ukraine. I am thankful to the co-authors for fruitful cooperation, the results of which are interesting in theoretic and practical aspects,” one of the authors, Doctor of History, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” Iryna Perederii said.

According to another author of the scientific work, Doctor of History, Professor Ruslan Hula, the practical meaning of the monograph is in the clear recommendations on the informational counteraction organization to fight the negative influence of the opponent in the civil and military informational infrastructure. These suggestions are now being studied in the Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the problems of national security, defense and exploration.
