International Training Centre for Economic Security and Financial Investigations is opened at Poltava Polytechnic

With the support of the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine and the Jean Monnet grant project, the International Training Centre for Economic Security and Financial Investigations, the only unique educational location in the Poltava region, was opened at the multidisciplinary classical National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

Continuing the series of remarkable openings of scientific and educational locations, at the beginning of the new academic year 2024-2025, the International Training Centre for Economic Security and Financial Investigations was solemnly opened at the Educational and Research Institute of Finance, Economics, Management and Law of Poltava Polytechnic, where a whole galaxy of financial and economic professionals is trained, under the full support of the representatives of the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine and the Jean Monnet grant project.

Head of the Mobile Unit of the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine, Ove Urup-Madsen, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Human Rights, Deoccupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, National Minorities and International Relations, Co-Chairman of NGO “IDPs of Ukraine”, member of Supervisory Board of Poltava Polytechnic Maksym Tkachenko, and Rector of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko performed the honourable mission of opening the modern international training centre in the presence of representatives of the university’s academic and student corporation. The honoured guests marked this important event in the calendar of Poltava Polytechnic with a symbolic ribbon cutting.

“Once again, a milestone event has taken place at Poltava Polytechnic: with the full support of our international partners, we are opening a powerful modern International Training Centre for Economic Security and Financial Investigations. 

Students studying under the educational programmes “Financial and Economic Security Management” and “Law” will gain modern practical knowledge of financial investigations and develop the skills that will be needed to rebuild our country's economic system after the Victory. We aim to teach our students how to work with the most powerful resource databases ORBIS and OSINT.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our European partners for their comprehensive assistance and support, and I would like to express my special gratitude to People’s Deputy of Ukraine, member of Supervisory Board of Poltava Polytechnic Maksym Tkachenko. He constantly supports our joint initiatives and is happy about the success and dynamic development of the university, especially in the conditions of a full-scale invasion.

By opening the cutting-edge scientific and educational locations, Poltava Polytechnic is confidently positioning itself as a real innovative space where highly qualified experts in economic security and financial investigations are formed, ready to work diligently for the post-war recovery of Ukraine! By preparing a new generation of professionals, we are building a new state!” – stressed the Rector, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

Within the event’s framework, the Head of the Council of Young Scientists of Poltava Polytechnic, winner of the Presidential Award for Young Scientists, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation Oleksandra Maslii made a high-level presentation on the wide possibilities of the International Training Centre for Economic Security and Financial Investigations.

According to the scientist, the opening of the state-of-the-art international training centre will provide a unique opportunity for students of Poltava Polytechnic to work with effective practical cases and hone their skills in real financial investigations.

“We are firmly convinced that the training at this centre will be a significant step towards training modern specialists in finance and law who are ready for effective practical work,” – said Oleksandra Maslii.

The newly opened International Training Centre for Economic Security and Financial Investigations will help train motivated professionals to meet the needs of the national economy in the context of globalisation and Ukraine’s integration into the global economic space.

It should be recalled that EUAM has already organised a series of professional events at Poltava Polytechnic with the participation of financial investigation practitioners.

Earlier, the delegation of Poltava Polytechnic attended the inauguration of the academic year at Białystok University of Technology, Professor Emeritus of Białystok University of Technology Volodymyr Onyshchenko congratulated his colleagues on the beginning of the new academic year, students of Poltava Polytechnic will be able to study under Erasmus+ and double degree programmes at the Polish University of Science and Technology (AGH), Poltava Polytechnic will cooperate with the leading university in Poland, Warsaw University of Technology.
