At a solemn ceremony at the M. V. Ostrogradsky Poltava Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education, the best among the student youth and scientific elite of the region were noted.
Ihor Serdiuk Scholarship was established by the decision of Poltava Regional Council of July 12, 2018 in order to perpetuate the events of the Revolution of Dignity, honor the feat of the Heavenly Hundred Hero – the Hero of Ukraine Ihor Serdiuk, encourage students, young scientists to public, national-patriotic, volunteer, self-governing activities. During the year, the scholarship is awarded to 10 students of schools and vocational schools, 10 students of higher education institutions and 10 young scientists who actively assert the ideals and values of the Revolution of Dignity.
The Hero of Ukraine Andrii Konopliov Scholarship was founded in 2018 by the decision of the Poltava Regional Council No. 764, within the framework of the regional program of national-patriotic education of children and youth. Every year, 20 nominal scholarships are awarded in the region – 10 of them for students and cadets of higher and pre-higher education institutions in Poltava region, and another 10 – for students of general secondary and vocational education institutions. All scholarship holders have achievements in volunteering, national-patriotic and self-governing activities (this is a prerequisite for a nominal scholarship).
"At the end of last year, Poltava Regional Council and Regional State Administration supported the initiative to honor the Heroes of Ukraine from Kremenchuk and Pyriatyn, who gave their lives in the struggle for independence of our country. In order for their names to be remembered forever, these scholarships were founded," – said First Deputy Head of the Poltava Regional Council, Oleksandr Lemeshko.
"The hard fate has come to the fate of every patriot of Ukraine who protects and builds Ukraine with their work. Thanks to them, our country exists," – added Deputy of the Poltava Regional Council Oleh Didenko.
Together with the Deputy Military Commissioner of Poltava Region Eduard Borodai, regional deputies presented the laureates with scholarship certificates.
A student and three scientists of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" became laureates of the scholarship of Heavenly Hundred Hero of the Poltava Regional Council – Hero of Ukraine Ihor Serdiuk in two nominations.
In the nomination "Students of Higher Education Institutions" the laureate was Anna Mykhailova – a fourth-year student of the Educational and Research Institute of Architecture, Construction and Land Management.
In the nomination "Young scientists of higher education and research institutions" were awarded:
Yurii Avramenko – Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Construction and Civil Engineering, Laureate of the Award of the President of Ukraine for young scientists 2019;
Oleksandr Drobotia – postgraduate student of the Department of Construction and Civil Engineering;
Iryna Novytska – Doctor of Philosophy, Assistant of the Department of International Economic Relations and Tourism.
The value of the scholarship is: for schoolchildren – one subsistence minimum, for students of higher education – one and a half subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, for young scientists – two subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons.
Two students of Poltava Polytechnic have been awarded nominal the Hero of Ukraine Andrii Konopliov Scholarships:
Nikita Solovei – a student of the specialty "Physical Culture and Sports" of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports (champion of Ukraine in military-sports all-around)
Mykyta Shamota – a student majoring in "Mining" of the Educational and Research Institute of Oil and Gas
Anton Velychko – a student of the Faculty of Humanities, a graduate of the Department of Military Training of Poltava Polytechnic.
The scientific and pedagogical staff as well as student team of the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" congratulate the scholarship holders, and wish new scientific as well as socially important achievements!
It should be recalled that the laureates of the scholarship of Heavenly Hundred Hero of the Poltava Regional Council – Hero of Ukraine Ihor Serdiuk of previous years were six students and scientists of the Polytechnic.
Recently, a Polytechnic student was named the best student-public figure of Poltava region, and a Polytechnic student was recognized as the best athlete in Poltava region.
