For the fourth time in a row, the All-Ukrainian Association of Football Coaches has chosen the best coach in student football. The winners of 2021 were determined by the following criteria – active participation of their teams in competitions of the All-Ukrainian Student Football Association and university competitions of world scale, in particular, in the World Universiade (during its years), World and European Championships among university teams, All-Ukrainian competitions, as well as many years of work in student football.
According to the decision of the highly professional jury, which included representatives of the All-Ukrainian Football Association of Students and the All-Ukrainian Association of Football Coaches, the best coach in student football in 2021 was Oleksii Vorobiov – referee of the National Category, coach of the picked football team of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education.
Oleksii Vorobiov is a pupil of the “Kolos” training group (Poltava) and the Kharkiv Sports Boarding School. He has devoted 27 years of his professional life to the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. He currently works as a senior lecturer at the Department of Physical Education, teaches “Physical Education” and “Theory and Methods of Teaching Football”. Oleksii Vorobiov is author (as well as co-author) of more than 20 scientific and methodical papers. He is also coach of the picked teams of the university in football, futsal, beach soccer, as well as repeated winner and prize-winner of student competitions.
The winners of the nomination “Best Coach in Student Football” were: in 2018 – Serhii Shvets (Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University), in 2019 – Vasyl Ivehesh (FC “Ternopil-Pedagogical University”), in 2020 – Oleksii Yatsenko (SC “MERCURY” KNUTE, Kyiv).
Awarding of this year’s laureates of honorary nominations “VBET League”, “First League”, “Second League”, “Amateur Football”, “Student Football”, “Women’s Football” All-Ukrainian Association of Football Coaches plans to hold before the first matches of the spring part of the season. The traditional ceremony, which took place in the capital (Kyiv) in 2018-2020, will not take place again this year due to quarantine measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
It should be recalled that in 2020 Polytechnic team entered the TOP-5 of the strongest student football teams of Ukraine, and this year they won the XVII Universiade of Poltava region as well as the All-Ukrainian beach games among students “Beach Games”.
