Liudmyla Luzan, a graduate of the Master’s program at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic,” has once again proven that Ukrainian rowing is at a high level in world sports. At the 2025 World Championships in kayaking and canoeing, she won four gold medals in a row!
She won her first gold medal in the Olympic 500-meter canoe doubles race. Then, on Ukraine’s National Flag Day, August 23, the athlete won two gold medals. First, Liudmyla won in the singles, and then she triumphed in the 200-meter canoe doubles together with Iryna Fedoriv.
And on August 24, on the Independence Day of Ukraine, the girl won another gold medal at the championship – she triumphed in the 200-meter singles. The athlete’s achievements testify to her extraordinary talent and perseverance.
This is the fourth gold medal for the Poltava Polytechnic graduate at this year’s tournament, which is her personal record for the number of gold medals at a single world championship.
Liudmyla Luzan is an Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine, Recipient of the Order of Merit, silver medalist at the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games in canoe doubles, bronze medalist at the 2020 Olympics in canoe singles, eight-time world champion, and four-time European champion. Her successes are a vivid confirmation of the high level of training of athletes at Poltava Polytechnic and a source of pride for the University.
