MCT: UCEQA approves the general characteristics and schemes of scoring the foreign language block

Admission to the master’s degree in specialties 081 “Law” and 293 “International Law” in 2022 provides for a comprehensive master’s test. The test will contain two blocks of tasks: foreign language (English, German, French or Spanish of the entrant's choice) and law.

On May 25, 2022, the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment approved the general characteristics and scoring schemes of the MCT foreign language block.

The general characteristics and schemes of scoring the block of the master’s complex test in a foreign language are approved. It will consist of three types of tasks: to establish compliance, with the choice of one correct answer and fill in the blanks in the text.

The content of the MCT block in a foreign language will be determined by the Program of the Unified Entrance Exam in Foreign Languages. It will consist of three types of tasks: to establish compliance, with the choice of one correct answer, to fill in the gaps in the text (English, German, Spanish). In total, the MCT foreign language unit will contain 30 tasks, which will take participants 120 minutes to complete. The maximum number of test points that can be scored by correctly completing all test tasks is 30 points.

It is planned that a demonstration version of the test will be developed for the participants of the master’s exams.

This year, future masters will take a master’s comprehensive test for admission in the specialties 081 “Law” and 293 “International Law” and a master’s test of academic competence for admission in the specialties of knowledge:

05 “Social and behavioral sciences”

06 “Journalism”

07 “Management and Administration”

28 “Public administration”

29 “International Relations” (except for specialty 293 “International Law”).

Potential masters will be able to register for the MTAC and MCT from June 27 to July 18 inclusive, by contacting the admissions committee of the higher education institution.
