On February 10, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. the Academy of Ukrainian Press together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine invites you to the online discussion "Media Education on Fire: new challenges – new resources or How to destroy russian propaganda".
Among the speakers of the event are:
- Gillian McCormack, director of Internews in Ukraine;
- Nataliia Lyhachova, editor-in-chief of the "Detector Media" publication group;
- Andrii Kulakov, program director of "Internews-Ukraine";
- Raisa Yevtushenko, chief specialist of the Directorate of preschool, school, out-of-school and inclusive education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine;
- Oksana Volosheniuk, manager of media education programs at the Academy of Ukrainian Press.
- Vadym Miskyi, program director of the "Detector Media", Ukrainian public figure, media and advocacy specialist.
The online discussion will be of interest to: educators who are aware of the vital necessity of media education; journalistic community; public sector.
We will talk about:
- resources to help teachers. Special focus "What has changed in media education in wartime conditions";
- debunking propagandistic fakes, manipulations and misrepresentations by russians regarding the war in Ukraine;
- exposure of information manipulation;
- decoding of the information and psychological operations in the media;
- ability to protect yourself from potentially harmful information.
