Korolenko, founder of the Department of the Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation, Rector’s Advisor, Honored Worker of Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava National Technical University Nadiia Kostiantynivna Kocherha.
For the fifth year in a row, on the day of the sad anniversary, the scientific and pedagogical team of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” honours the memory of an outstanding scientist, local historian, whose colossal scientific achievements in the field of popularization of Ukrainian culture and language are difficult to overestimate.
Fellow scientists, who gathered to honour the bright name of Person with a capital letter, responded with warm words about an extraordinary personality, who initiated the pedagogical and humanitarian direction of training specialists at the university, selflessly worked and lived in the affairs of the Poltava Polytechnic, taking care of the protection and popularization of national culture and its heritage, without whose ascetic activity it would be difficult to imagine a modern multidisciplinary classical university. For 33 years, Nadiia Kostiantynivna was the curator of the People’s History Museum of the university, she did a lot to update and fill its exposition with new materials about the history of the Institute of Noble Girls and the fate of Yurii Kondratiuk (Olexandr Sharhei). In honour of the scientist’s memory, the Academic Council of the Poltava Polytechnic University named the museum after her in autumn 2018.
ЄA person lives as long as they are remembered.... Time flies unstoppably... And today is already the fifth anniversary since Nadiia Kostiantynivna Kocherha, respected by all of us, crossed the Border of Eternity. But all these years she lives in the memory of the hearts of all those with whom fate brought her together. During her earthly life, Nadiia Kostiantynivna managed to do a lot: we know her as a scientist, a candidate of historical sciences, an associate professor, a well-known local historian, a laureate of numerous regional awards, the founder of the Department of the Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation, involved in the creation of a humanitarian direction that is currently successfully developing in our classical university. I was always impressed by her sincere devotion to the university, to the service of which she devoted a large part of her life. We are sure that she would sincerely rejoice at the current significant achievements of the Poltava Polytechnic.
And we also remember Nadiia Kostiantynivna as a deeply decent and principled person, a kind, sensitive, indomitable optimist and lover of life, in love with poetry, especially the work of Lina Kostenko.
A bright and kind person who lived her life honestly and with dignity leaves behind the same bright memories that will always be stronger than death. Thank you, dear Nadiia Kostiantynivna, for all the good you brought to people, for being in our lives,” – said Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of the Ukrainian Studies, Culture and Documentation of the Poltava Polytechnic Liudmyla Cherednyk.
Those present honoured the memory of the outstanding scientist with a moment of silence and laying flowers.
