Rector Volodymyr Onyshchenko together with the head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Dmytro Lunin and People’s Deputy of Ukraine, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, head of the subcommittee on higher education, member of the Law Commission of the Scientific and Methodological Commission on Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Yuliia Hryshyna cut the symbolic ribbon in the presence of students, teachers and honoured guests of the university – People’s Deputies of Ukraine Volodymyr Voronov, Andrii Bobliakh and Oleksii Krasov.
“A new modern location has appeared on the sports map of Poltava – a multifunctional sports ground!
We built a novel sports ground with a leading-edge covering of 32x18m for healthy physical activity and several sports (basketball, volleyball, tennis, cheerleading, streetball, floorball, etc.) worth over one and a half million hryvnias. The Department of Capital Construction of the Poltava Regional State Administration financed the purchase of a rubber coating.
National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” and our business partners paid all other costs: arrangement of a concrete base for the coating, asphalt concrete coating, fence. I thank the deputies of the Poltava Regional Council for supporting the team of the Poltava Polytechnic. Special words of thanks to the Deputy of the Regional Council Oleh Didenko and the head of the business company Ihor Didenko for financing the materials for the fence of the sports ground. This is an investment in the health of student youth and community residents, in the best conditions for the training of students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, and, no less important, in the sports glory of Ukraine, when our National Anthem will be played with every victory of our athletes at international competitions
The first visitors to the ground immediately tested it with a basketball play. The students are delighted, and this is very important for me, as the rector. Students of Poltava Polytechnic are fond of various sports. The university has a sports club, 17 sports sections of 22 sports.

I invite everyone to study at the Poltava Polytechnic, where the best conditions have been created for the harmonious development of the personality! Together to victory! Polytechnic students demonstrated their sportsmanship in basketball and volleyball on the newly opened multifunctional sports ground.
“We, the students, are extremely pleased that even in such difficult times great attention is paid to the development of youth in Ukraine. On behalf of the student body of the Poltava Polytechnic, allow me to express my gratitude to the Poltava Regional State Administration, People’s Deputies of Ukraine and the rector of our university – Volodymyr Oleksandrovych, for the development of student sports in Ukraine and in Poltava. The opening of this multifunctional sports ground is an opportunity for students to spend their free time in an interesting and beneficial way for their health, it is quality training as well as new victories and achievements of our athletes, it is new opportunities for internally displaced persons who live on the campus of our university and new possibilities for students of Poltava schools. It’s nice that we are students of Poltava Polytechnic!” – noted the president of the Student Parliament Liudmyla Bylym.
It was our students who successfully performed at the European Universities Games – 2022 in Poland – according to the results of the competition, the table tennis team reached the quarterfinals, and the kickboxers won gold and silver.
It should be recalled that the Polytechnic graduate won the gold award at The World Games 2022.
