The meeting of the Presidium of the Public Organization "Union of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine" was held with the participation of the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhii Shkarlet and People's Deputy of Ukraine, Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Education, Science and Innovation Serhii Babak.

The head of the Union, rector of KNUCA, professor Petro Kulikov focused the attention of the heads of higher education institutions on the peculiarities of the organization of the educational process and the exchange of experience at universities, in which the new academic year for full-time bachelor’s students has already begun.

"On August 15, a new academic year began at the National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" and more than half of the students went to studies live, however, we also took care of students who were evacuated from the war and are unable to come to the university – provided training in an asynchronous format on the distance education platform, and teachers are in touch with their students.

An extremely important issue on the agenda was the rational use of state orders. National University "Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic" received the largest amount of state orders in the Poltava Region – almost 700 places, and is the leader in the number of specialties that have special state support. Also, the largest number of state-funded places in our structural subdivision is in the Poltava College of Oil and Gas, where enrollment for state-funded places has already taken place successfully.

We must maximize the enrollment of applicants with high scores and ratings to priority specialties for the revival of Ukraine. We work for Victory! Everything will be Ukraine!" – commented the rector, professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

The community of rectors is very interested in the high-quality formation of the "Education and Science" section in the Recovery Plan of Ukraine, so the Union plans to work on separate blocks.

The All-Ukrainian Forum SEB-2022: Science, Education, Business is also envisaged, within the framework of which higher education institutions will be able to expand the circle of stakeholders and establish cooperation with business partners to improve the training of personnel in relevant specialties.

The Deputy Chairman of the Union, Rector of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Professor Volodymyr Buhrov informed about the plans for the development of international cooperation of the Public Organization "Union of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Ukraine", noting the diplomatic successes achieved in the last few months.

It should be recalled that the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science Serhii Zakharin checked the readiness of the Poltava Polytechnic for the start of studies and took part in the meeting of the Rectorate, and the day before the people's deputies got acquainted with the process of preparing the university for the new academic year.
