Polytechnic young scientists are presented with Diplomas of Laureates of the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

On May 12, a solemn awarding ceremony for the laureates of the 2021 Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for young scientists was held in the city of Kyiv. Scientists of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” – laureates of the award received Diplomas and Badges of Honour for the work “Minimizing the impact of threats to the economic security of Ukraine in the conditions of the pandemic”.

On May 12, 2023, a solemn awarding ceremony for the laureates of the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for young scientists of 2021 was held. In the presence of people’s deputies and representatives of the Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk personally presented the Diplomas and Badges of Honour to the award winners. The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament congratulated the young scientists on their significant scientific, educational and professional achievements and thanked them for their willingness to continue fruitful scientific and research activities in Ukraine, despite the difficult modern challenges in the conditions of russian aggression.

“It is important that you keep that passion, vision, support for each other, bright ideas that are being born in you now,” – noted during the presentation the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, emphasizing the fact that it is young scientists who create modern science, dynamically move its development forward, constantly being at the centre of innovative changes. According to Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine together with the Committee on Education, Science and Innovation are doing and will continue to do everything possible for comprehensive support of domestic science. In particular, the volume of awards has been increased, meetings are held with representatives of the country’s scientific community, and young scientists are involved in practical discussions as well as adoption of legislative decisions.

According to Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation Serhii Kolieboshyn, thanks to the efforts of the scientific elite of our country, the concept of “young scientists” has become not an oxymoron, but an absolute reality.

In accordance with the Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine No. 2833-IX/ of December 13, 2022 “On awarding the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to young scientists for the year 2021” for the work “Minimizing the impact of threats to the economic security of Ukraine in the conditions of the pandemic”, Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for young scientists was awarded to:

  • Svitlana Onyshchenko – Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Laureate of the Prize of the President of Ukraine for Young Scientists, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology, Corresponding Member of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine;

  • Oleksandra Maslii – Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation, Laureate of the Prize of the President of Ukraine for Young Scientists, Scholar of the Mayor of Poltava, Scholar of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for Young Scientists, Member of the Council of Young Scientists of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”;

  • Alina Hlushko – Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Finance, Banking and Taxation, Laureate of the Award of the President of Ukraine for Young Scientists, Member of the Council of Young Scientists of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”.

The recognition of scientists of the Poltava Polytechnic at a high state level is the result of the effective long-term activity of the powerful scientific school “Security-oriented management of the economy: state, region, enterprise” of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”. It is worth noting that this scientific paper became the only presented study in economic science that received an honorary award from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The recognition of the significant achievements of young scientists of the Poltava Polytechnic by the Ukrainian parliament serves as a bright marker of the dynamic and effective development of economic education in one of the best classical universities of our country!

I highly appreciate the significant contribution of a whole galaxy of comprehensively developed personalities, scientists, graduates of our university in the formation of modern, practice-oriented science. It is worth noting that in 2021, the competition for the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for young scientists became the largest in the entire history of the existence of the Ukrainian parliament – 95 scientific papers from 160 nominees were received. Usually, each paper is prepared by a whole group of scientists. According to the results of the competition, 30 works from 59 nominees won.

It should be recalled that the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine recently presented awards to the winners of the Prize of the President of Ukraine for young scientists.

Previously, the Polytechnic post-graduate student became a laureate of the Prize of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the contribution of youth to the development of parliamentarism and local self-government.
