Open Workout Tournament is held on the Polytechnic premises

National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” hosted the Open Workout Tournament. The athletes from Poltava, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Brovary, Bohuslav, and Solonytsivka demonstrated excellent physical shape, significant personal achievements and the will to win.

The state-of-the-art sports facilities of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” regularly serve as a venue for a number of sports and fitness events, including the Open Workout Tournament. Athletes from Poltava, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Brovary, Bohuslav and Solonytsivka competed for the championship and honorary sports awards, demonstrating excellent physical fitness, significant personal achievements and a thirst for victory during their spectacular performances.

The competitions were held at the sports base of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” with the support of Rector, Honoured Worker of Education of Ukraine, Head of Sports Student Union of Ukraine in the Poltava Region and Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports in the Poltava Region, Doctor of Economics, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko and the initiative of Deputy President of “All-Ukrainian Street Workout Federation”, Poltava Polytechnic graduate Mykhailo Hrekov.

The organisers traditionally started the tournament’s opening ceremony with a salute to the national blue and yellow flag and a minute of silence.

The sporting event was opened and participants welcomed by the honoured guests – Dean of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Lina Rybalko, Deputy President of “All-Ukrainian Street Workout Federation”, Poltava Polytechnic graduate Mykhailo Hrekov, Head of Sports Club of Poltava Polytechnic, International Master of Sports of Ukraine in Military and Sports All-Around Nikita Solovei, and Chief Judge of the competition Dmytro Semenov.

“Dear participants of the tournament, we are delighted to welcome each of you to the leading classical higher education institution, National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”! We are deeply grateful that thanks to the courage and steadfastness of our defenders and heroic deeds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we can play our favourite sport, promote a healthy lifestyle among the youth, study and work. We wish you further success, inspiration, sports enthusiasm and a thirst for victory. Glory to Ukraine!” – greeted the audience the Head of Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic Lina Rybalko and conveyed the words of congratulations from Rector of the university, Head of Student Sports Union of Ukraine in the Poltava Region and Ukrainian Federation of Student Sports in the Poltava Region, Professor Volodymyr Onyshchenko.

Deputy President of the “All-Ukrainian Street Workout Federation” Mykhailo Hrekov also wished the participants strong endurance, inspiration, enchanting victories, as well as faith in themselves and their own strength.

The participants competed in the following categories: freestyle under 10 years old, freestyle 11-13 years old, freestyle girls under 12 inclusive, freestyle girls 13+ years old, freestyle 14+ years old, and Workout Battles.

According to the results of the competition, the winners of the Open Workout Tournament were as follows:

  • “freestyle under 10 years old”:

I place – Artem Holub (Brovary);

II place – Denys Khrystenko (Kharkiv);

III place – Valerii Matsko (Poltava).

  • “freestyle 11-13 years old”:

I place – Stanislav Luhovskyi (Brovary);

II place – Artem Pelekhan (Brovary);

III place – Maksym Kapshuk (Solonytsivka).

  • “freestyle girls under 12 inclusive”:

I place – Sofiia Shkryl (Brovary);

II place – Milena Myshko (Brovary);

III place – Veronika Khaliuta (Bohuslav).

  • “freestyle girls 13+ years old”:

I place – Oleksandra Syvak (Brovary);

II place – Arina Dzobko (Brovary);

III place – Veronika Bohdashevska (Brovary).

  • “freestyle 14+ years old”:

I place – Kyrylo Nozhenko (Kharkiv);

II place – Illia Mishchenko (Kyiv);

III place – Danylo Tyshchenko (Kharkiv).

  • “Workout Battles”:

I place – Yaroslav Nechvieiev (Brovary);

II place – Yehor Karabut (Poltava);

III place – Mykyta Parfonov (Kharkiv).

During the competitions, athletes from all over Ukraine had the opportunity to demonstrate their sports skills, and the winners were awarded with tournament diplomas and medals.

It should be recalled that the university hosted the competitions of the All-Ukrainian Campo-Karate Tournament and determined the winners of the Open Cossack Fighting Championship of the Poltava Region.

Recently, Polytechnic athletes became winners of the XIX Universiade of Poltava Region in 3x3 basketball among men and won the European Championship in kettlebell lifting.
