Paralympic champion-Polytechnic graduate puts up his gold medal for auction to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine

A graduate of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of Poltava Polytechnic, Paralympic champion Yevhenii Bohodaiko is going to join the assistance of the Armed Forces and sell his gold medal at auction to meet the needs of the Ukrainian army.

A graduate of the specialty “Physical Culture and Sports” of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”, 27-year-old Paralympic champion and winner in swimming Yevhenii Bohodaiko wants to sell his gold medal to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by VOGUE.

According to the titled champion, athletes should become a reliable rear for Ukrainians. In his interview for vogue.ua within the framework of the project “Without Limitations” Yevhenii Bohodaiko said that he likes to train in Ukraine, although he has something to compare with. He believes that the country is moving by leaps and bounds towards making life better and more comfortable for people with disabilities.

“The state is now doing everything – and even more,” – commented the athlete. Today the former world is ruined; many swimming pools and sports complexes were destroyed; many human lives were lost.”

Yevhenii says he wants to be as useful as possible. The athlete is already actively helping the Poltava Territorial Defense by volunteering – collecting medicines, long-term storage products, basic necessities and delivering humanitarian aid.

To become of the most usefulness for his own country, the champion wants to sell his gold medal from the 2020 Paralympics in Tokyo, and transfer the received funds to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It should be recalled that Yevhenii Bohodaiko is a three-time Paralympic Champion and two-time silver medalist of the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games as well as the 2016 Summer Paralympic Games, Champion and bronze medalist of the 2020 Summer Paralympic Games.
