Photography Competition on Ecological Issues “We are the Earth People” Started

The 2nd International Photography Competition “We are the Earth People” for school and higher education institutions students on the occasion of the Earth Day and to honor the International Chornobyl Disaster Remembrance Day. Winners and participants of the competition will receive presents from the international partners, and the prize-winning works will be exhibited.

Photography Competition on Ecological Issues “We are the Earth People” Started

The Community Organization International Cultural Center “The Shining”with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the State Scientific Establishment “Institute of Education Contents Modernization”, Institute of the Human of Borys Hrinchenko University of Kyiv, National Center “Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine”, Community Organization “Educational Consulting Center”, and Project Central (the USA) welcome everyone to participate in the International Photography Competition “We are the Earth People”.

The competition is held among students of schools, technical schools, and higher education institutions of Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in different specializations.

The goal of the competition is to promote self-realization of creative potential of children, youth and young adults, development of community’s eco-conscience, save our environment and build the national culture of cleanness and ecological responsibility of the humanity.

The priority nominations of the competition are the following:

  • Technologies and the Environment;
  • Natural Resources and our Planet:
  • Family, Nature, Culture;
  • I am an Ecosystem;
  • Industries and the Environment;
  • The Green Era;
  • Harmony: Body, Soul, Nature.

Requirements to the competition pieces are as follows:

  • only pieces completed by the authors themselves must be submitted to the competition - photos taken by the authors with their name in priority nominations and descriptions of the pictures in form of an essay, a poetry or a statement;
  • one competing piece must only have one author;
  • one author can submit up to three pieces in different nominations;
  • applications must be submitted through the form https://forms.gle/y2hNd4aQqekxHfQf7 not later than on May, 15, 2021, with the competition piece attached;
  • authors may publish their works at their social media accounts if they want, adding the hashtag #earthpeopleua;

Requirements to the pieces submitted to the competition are as follows:

  • the photo must be taken during the period of the competition (February, 15 - May, 15), and must not have filters of photo-editors applied or any additional decorations (such as frames or text);
  • photo resolution has to be more than 5 MP;
  • the photo must be saved as a JPEG file not less than 2,500px in width;
  • the description has to be typed in Times New Roman, with 1.5 interval, type size 14, A4 paper size (up to three pages), the margins formatted as: left - 30 mm, right - 10 mm, top - 20 mm, bottom - 20 mm;
  • the competing piece will only be considered if the author followed all the requirements of the competition (the picture, the name of the picture, the description, the application form submitted in time);
  • author have to submit the agreement on personal data processing in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Protection of Personal Data” of 01.06.2010 No. 2297-VI for further cooperation;
  • the pictures submitted to the competition will bot be returned.

The application period is from February, 15, 2021, to May, 15, 2021.

The application deadline is May, 15, 2021, at 18:00 (Kyiv time).

The competition pieces will be reviewed by competent jury. Winners and active participants will be awarded with presents from the international partners and organizers of the competition.

The results of the competition will be announced on May 25, 2021, and published on the “Museum Planet” portal.

The awarding ceremony will be held in June 2021 in Kyiv.
